Depends what you are looking for. They provide different benefits.

has anyone found paying for this program is any better value than just being platinum and plodding along?

I find incredible value in it because of the 10% off accom and 50% off meals. I would save thousands a year on the card - I'm around 75 nights in the past 12 months with it and I love it. But depends on how much you would use it

Thanks - all info gratefully accepted - as i got a phone call from them promoting the benefits of joining for ~$300 + bonus points and wasnt too sure if value for money - do you know if sofitel melbourne will accept free night voucher?

I found it great value with 20 nights a year, but that fell to five or six after they removed the discount from the cheapest rates; basically it lost it's sheen.

The worst part was the several aggressive call I received after deciding not to renew.

70 nights a year would make it worthwhile.

I found better accom & breakfast rates were available through my employer - since then have spoken to some friends in differant industries who have similar benefits. I think it would be wise to ask your employer first before committing. 8 nights in the last month and a bit at accor and my corp rate saved about 20-30% on the lowest unrestricted rate, compared to the card which was 10%.

Serfty, you still get 10% off the lowest rate. Even for the 50% off sales - you get 60% off with A+

I think you'd get 10% of the 50% reduced rate meaning 55% all up.

That was over five years ago - discount on "Hot Deal" was removed, being reinstated a year or three ago.

By then it was too late - I went with Hilton (and the then "Diamond Club"). I haven't looked back with the guaranteed HHonors elite benefits (lounge access, breakfast, internet...)

Yes but how many are in a position to use the sales. How many business travellers can book non refundable/non cancellable rates and guarantee where they are going to be at a given time ? 50% of my trips would be booked then changed. I see the sales as rewarding the least frequent travellers.

I book flexi and then wait till closer to the date, and if there is a sale, will cancel and book sale.

Rather than start a new thread I though I'd resurrect this one.

Just wondering how good the private advantage + sales are? Tossing up if I should buy this membership as a le club plat!

I hold both the advantage plus card (paid) and the platinum membership card.
When booking hotels online, the advantage plus card always gives me a cheaper rate - around $10 to $30 cheaper per night for the same room.
The adv+ card also has dining benefits whilst the platinum card doesn't.

Like Creston - I had both - but just emailed them to merge accounts - so I now have the Advantage Plus Platinum.

Thanks th14. Never thought of that! Will try and see what happens. Maybe I can get platinum status extended another year!!

It is on the contact us section of the website - just search for merge.

"I have more than one Le Club Accorhotels cards. Can I merge them
into a single account ?
You can combine your cards into one single account on the condition that all
the cards are issued in your name. Only our Customer Service department is
authorized to make this change: sign in to your account, go to the "Contact us"
section and fill in the contact form. Tell us that you would like to combine
your various cards into one account."
