and I find at least with 3K the pricing does not change much, in fact I have had it drop closer to the flight.

The only exception if it is around a long weekend or Singapore public holiday, where short hauls on any carrier become more and more expensive (or sold out in many cases) closer to travel date.

Has anyone booked tickets on Decolar.com? I have played with dummy schedule ex SYD to BKK in late Nov - early Dec 13 but always Decolar.com seems to have cheaper tickets than expedia.com.br.

My findings;
*Decolar.com
No field to put QFF number
Not sure any English speaking staff
Slightly cheaper than Expedia.com.br

*Expedia.com.br
Option field to put your QFF number
Several fellow AFF members commented there are English speaking support staff

Please share your experience of Decolar.com if you have.

Not such an issue with not being able to put in your QFF number... you can add it once you have the QF booking reference.

CPF is sort of security number relates to their tax system or sort (sorry correct me if I am wrong). Many fellow members said they just put credit card number there and that's fine. it's not mandatory field so no big deal.
I just know that Expedia.com.br currently have no problem with credit cards issued overseas (ie. OZ one), but haven't found any comments about Decolar.com's credit card policy etc.

Anyone who has bought tickets from Decolar.com, please share your experience if anything worth mentioning. cheers

I found that if you book incl. hotels (i.e. no expedia fee) the price is the same, if not better than other places including decolar.

I've booked with decolar. Didn't encounter any issues. I googled a random CPF generator. It was cheaper than expedia even after the hotel trick for the dates I wanted. Got the ticket straight away and added my FF number. I consider these tickets to be use it or lose it. I have no plans on ever making date changes etc as I expect it will be quite difficult.

Thanks aikman, good to hear no issues with decolar tkt purchase. As for price in both sites, I found the same thing - even without expedia fee, almost all cases I've tried, decolar seems cheaper if not same. Furthermore for example, in early Dec13 ex SYD to BKK return, decolar's cheapest tkt (it says the last seat in that tkt class) is not even available in expedia br, which made me wonder why.

Also one disadvantage of decolar purchase, I cannot seem to find the ticket class in flight details (eg. QF O or Q class etc), does anyone know how to check this in decolar search results? expedia br site shows it in flight detail screen - although I can make a wild guess with similar priced ticket with same schedule/flight no. from expedia site.

btw, I am also thrilled to have found a multi city flight ex SYD-LHR-NRT-SYD by BA (some are operated by QF and JL) departing late Oct13 at US$1001 in decolar. Gee, I have never ever seen such a bargain price to LHR let alone flying in triangle via NRT with full serviced career..... Last time I bought a return flight with JL to LHR via NRT at A$1500 departing at the end of May13 (via travel agent), which I thought it was a bargain. This ticket made my previous JL ticket almost a ripoff....

I've been looking at flights to and from Europe on decolar as well. After clicking the "Buy" button on some of the cheap BA flights you'll find that a heap of taxes and fees get added making the tickets very expensive, so you might want to check that too before getting your hopes up :(

True! The first price you get on Decolar does not include taxes which for LHR could add something like A$900 for the one I just checked to the price! ouch!

I just bought MEL-HAM-MEL, via DXB, on Decolar. It was about A$60 more expensive than Expedia br, but as Decolar accepts my AmEx (which earns points) and Expedia doesn't, Decolar got my business.

out of interest, what's the saving on .br compared to traditional QF website? i thought the .br trick was really only any good for asia namely SIN and BKK ....

Ouch that's true - even the first screen says it includes all tax and fees, it adds up to BRL4422=A$2172. how dissapointing.... never mind. I keep looking for treasure hunting...

Are the ex-OZ to SIN specials still on expedia.com.br?
I just had a play around say MEL - SIN and its pricing in around BRL1,270 which works to be around A$625

They're not on sale at the moment..

The only deal on the .br site for PER-SIN I found was the EK codeshare.... but then I was looking for one way.

If you want partner miles, QF doesn't want to play at the moment. (ie V class or higher)

I got a few deals to LHR via DXB from SYD for ~$1050 return, one has a week-long stay in DXB.
