Was travelling through BNE last night and noticed a frosted door at the end of the main terminal (before turning left for gates 43+). The writing on the door said something about building a better lounge. Looking at through the crack in the door, doesn't look like anything special. Does anyone know what it is? Is it simply an overflow for when the main lounge gets busy?

It's the meeting rooms, been there for months.

If you peer through the crack in the sliding doors, its actually a mini lounge, with a bar/food service area etc,
Looks like an overflow area

They must have got rid of the meeting rooms, I was wrong:

So is this extension general access for all lounge members, or is it a Plat lounge?

Looks interesting, I look forward to checking it out at the AGM. Looks like it's not connected, as if it were behind the toilets in the current lounge, have I got the placement right? Don't head to that side of the terminal often.

From the pictures and comments on the facebook page it looks to be a more substantial copy of Air NZ's 'Koru Express' lounges. Completely separate little satellite lounge with a focus on short stays and takeaway options. Hopefully it will relieve pressure off the main lounge! seems like a nice little concept!

Annette commented when we went past it last week. They wanted to increase the size of the Lounge but were hamstrung by the original design and layout of the initial lounge. Essentially it will take out the pax who are there just to have a barista coffee and short stays.

When I mentioned "The Club" she went unusually silent, just smiled and took my arm guiding me to my flight. Such a lady :D.

Where else can I get walked onto my plane by a Lounge Manager?

That sort of makes sense. I am guessing it will not have all the food and beverages available in main lounge.

Saw all the "Coming soon" signage had been taken off it seems Friday night when I arrived in BNE from MKY, had the swipe card function there in the open, so I was abit puzzled...
NOW knowing its open as of today, I'll have to check it out when I transit through BNE next month :)
