It should at least have a view of the tarmac. That's better than a railway station and carpark view like the lounge and club get.

i am sure it offers wonderful views of your favourite aircraft

In that Lieutenant Colonel Bill Kilgore way ........ who doesn't love the smell of ATR's in the morning

OK so the view of the carpark seems so much better now.......

Oh don't be silly. I'd love a view of the ATRs..........just so I could poke faces at all the unfortunates boarding them

I popped into the BNE lounge tonight on my way home and was asked by the lounge angel if I was aware of the Velocity "Coffee Shop" - I asked what was in there and she said, the same as what is in the lounge except there is no hot food... Velocity's hot food offering is cough anyway so I don't think you will be missing much by trying it out.

I didn't bother checking it out as I didn't have much time, but might pop in on Friday and have a look see.

I am hoping this "Coffee Shop" is just a cover and they will change it over to a Platinum lounge when more open up. Seems pointless to me to have a coffee shop, when you can get perfectly good barrista coffee in the normal Velocity lounge anyway???

I wasn't able to see a reception desk when I looked through the crack in the door last Sunday, now that it's open, is there any measure to prevent non members from entering the lounge by following a member in before the door closes? :o

In the new lounge now, just heard a member of staff telling another pax that he has heard the new area will be for First class/Platinum members

I really like it, it looks great! First time ive seen apple cinnamon muffins too.

Re: Private lounge in Brisbane

It's the new "overflow" lounge at Brisbane, I believe it is only open at peak times

From the other day when I visited the lounge.

I must say, I like the concept, especially with a BP/card swipe to get in. However, I think it's in the wrong location, as they could have put it at the end of the satellite. There's not much space there, but for either airline (VA/QF) to build a new lounge on top of the satellite, affording great views all around, that'd be a good second lounge.

Re: Private lounge in Brisbane

I've got the feeling I've seen this before .....

thinking thinking ............... Got it !

The 1984 Ikea catalogue ....... next time I'm in I'll hunt around for the left over allen keys

Ha, ha, I was thinking something similar..except my thoughts were they've gone from 1960's Jetsons look in the lounges, to 1970's Brady Bunch look for the coffee shop! You are far more forgiving with the 1980's Ikea look, I must say!

In reality though, a good move in planning ahead with space constraints (although I don't think BNE has too many problems in that regard just yet), but like others, I really think placing this out the end would have made far more sense.....even a downstairs coffee lounge within the existing garden setting in the middle of the satellite would have been very nice (and that space is just wasted now). Some discretely and discreetly angled louvres would not detract from the garden view from the boarding lounges above, but would give ample privacy to the VA status/J flyers below!

Anyway, I'm not complaining and I'm quite sure there are reasons for the odd position (future J lounge perhaps)
