Can Red Roo follow up this question, this morning I asked an excellent Qantas Customer service rep a question regarding some RTW flights and also if Qantas Club members QFWP & QFSG can use Malaysian Airlines guest lounges in KL and other places when travelling Malaysian, he could not give much information on this question. QF need to provide more info for QF Customer Service staff. I will be possibly travelling Malaysian in Oct and will have a 5 hours stop over in KL.

Qantas Club (only) members wouldn't have access as the paid lounge membership does not have reciprocal rights with MAS, AFAIK. However, as a Qantas Gold (OneWorld Sapphire) or Platinum (OneWorld Emerald) you do have access and benefits, per the OneWorld benefits, as MAS is a part of OneWorld.

Your LTG would give you access to the Business lounges, and if you have Platinum, the First lounges (though threads here are mixed on the success of that).

[h=3]oneworld lounge access for frequent flyers by tier status[/h]Enjoy exclusive access to premium airport lounges around the world with oneworld Emerald or Sapphire frequent flyer tier status. Members of oneworld airline frequent flyer programmes with the equivalent of oneworld Emerald or Sapphire tier status can use any lounge offered by any oneworld airline when departing on any flight marketed and operated by anyoneworld member airline, regardless of cabin class being flown.

  • Emerald tier frequent flyers can use First Class, Business Class or frequent flyer lounges.
  • Sapphire tier frequent flyers are welcome in Business Class* or frequent flyer lounges. (*does not include Qantas Domestic Business Lounges)
  • Emerald and Sapphire members may invite one guest to join them in the lounge. The guest must also be travelling on a flight operated and marketed by a oneworld carrier.
  • You must be prepared to show your boarding pass and frequent flyer membership card, with oneworld Emerald orSapphire tier status, to access a lounge.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

I would argue the rep is not so excellent if they didn't know the answer to that.

As posted above, the information is clearly and succinctly described on the qantas website

No need for RedRoo to follow up.
QP alone = no access to any MH lounge.
SG and above = access based on status allowances.

First access is no problem, I think you may be referring to the platinum suite in KUL which is for MH plats only, it is separate to the MH first lounge. I believe a few have been given (mistakenly) access to the platinum suite when showing a QF Platinum card.

Thanks to all for the heads-up on MH lounge access, the Qantas Customer Service Rep was excellent with regard to my RTW intinerary
