Hi guys- apologies if this has been answered already elsewhere but I can't find a definite answer anywhere: I have booked a Cash and Points reward stay with a Westin property over Christmas and might have to cancel or change now due to changed circumstances. Does anyone know whether the points which have already been deducted from my SPG account can be reimbursed if this is canceled or, if that fails, whether I can at least change this booking with the same property and this way not loose my points?

The actual rate description in my booking sounds like in a fully flexible booking, i.e. "if you cancel by the day before stay, there will be no forfeiture amount". This is all good and fine regarding the cash portion of the booking as this has to be paid upon departure only. But I'm not sure if this also means that I get the points used for this reimbursed into my account- does anyone know? Thanks!

You get the points back automatically, did one last month.

So you get the initial points back along with the cash portion? Or do they convert the cash portion to points and refund you points for the whole lot instead?

The cash portion is only paid at checkout, so it does not come into play.
