Flew PER-BNE rtn on Saturday / Sunday. Both were AM flights so breakfast was served.

Got the new plated service both ways. It's a vast improvement over the previous service style with a much more relaxed service style and far far tastier food presented much nicer.

The cabin crew were also excellent with very friendly people on both flights. On the run across to BNE the pilot actually walked the cabin talking to passengers!

The flight attendants on both runs commented that they enjoyed giving the new service, and also that the refreshed 763's make their work environment much more pleasant, which is excellent.

Here's a look:

Then on the return flight we scored an international configured 763! This is even better than the refreshed Millennium seats as the Dreamtime seat is actually perfect for the transcontinental run.

The muffin was exceptionally yummy as was the Greek Yoghurt.

I had the muesli for my main.

One of the hot options was crèpes with mushroom and tomato.

All in all excellent flights. The 767's feel far better now in J and the new service is so much better. Well done QF!

The seat on both legs doesn't look nearly as good as VA's new A330 product.

While its a great improvement on previous transcontinental meals it still appears to be a lot behind the likes pork belly, lamb cutlets, bocichini salad, various pancakes, lamb shank, etc that are seen on VA.

Give me a dreamtime seat for a 4 hour transcon any day before either of the VA 332 offerings and any other offering normally found on domestic OZ routes.

It's a bit hard when the meals you are comparing are dinner meals, yet both flights posted here were breakfast flights

Bump!
I flew PER-MEL this morning on a breakfast service and had the Eggs Benny (loosely speaking as the muffin is replaced by chat potatoes). I'm making a big call here but IMHO it was the best brekkie I have had on any flight, ever :)
