Re: SQ A380 Turbulence - Pics Showing The Mess

So, they got chocs for brekky then.
10 hours later when they arrived in SIN. I guess they had another meal to serve on the 12 hour flight.

...otherwise that lost sausage could have been valuable by the end of the flight.

Re: SQ A380 Turbulence - Pics Showing The Mess

I would like to have put all those 200+ $10 boxes of chocos on my Wish card and WQEDR cc. I may becoming a tad obsessed as I just see opportunities everywhere.

Impressive turbulence...
Obviously proving that the bigger aircraft are not immune.

Re: SQ A380 Turbulence - Pics Showing The Mess

The saved flight path showed it was over India but the text said they were serving breakfast (which usually means just before LHR landing). Do we know where it happened? If it was really at the beginning of the flight I am amazed they didn't turn back.

Unless there is damage to the aircraft or serious injury that needed urgent medical attention why would you turn back?

true, but i wouldn't want to be on a plane for hours covered in food.

true, but i wouldn't want to be on a plane for hours covered in food.

From reading on here, there are others who have had things (drinks, food and others vomit) spilt on them midflight and they haven't had the choice of turning back or diverting

Not a pretty sight and certainly one I never want to experience.

I think sometimes we take flying for granted. And if you really needed further re-inforcing never, ever, be seated in flight without your seatbelt fastened. Perceived comfort should take a back seat.

Unfortunately for passengers and crew on board Singapore Airlines flight SQ308, the picture did not capture the aftermath of a high school cafeteria-type argument, but rather the result of major turbulence, which sent the plane falling 20 meters and caused every unsecured item in the cabin to go flying.

According to a passenger on board the Singapore to London flight on Sunday, Alan Cross said the cabin had been warned of turbulence up ahead, but nobody expected to see everything, including people, hitting the ceiling, The Daily Mail reported.

“[It felt] like being in an elevator with a cut cable or free-falling from some amusement park ride,” Mr Cross said describing the incident.

“The cabin crew was amazing in the aftermath, as were fellow passengers who helped everyone around them then in a calm and efficient clean-up.” He said staff checked for injuries before cleaning up the cabin.

Paramedics were called to further inspect passengers upon arrival in Heathrow, and according to the airline, 11 passengers and one crew member sustained minor injuries.

Good job it wasn't an American carrier or they'd have shouted at them and got the air marshals to arrest them ;)

yes If on a US carrier the crew would have been most concerned with people not taking photos and videos due to the security risk.
