So, either the MEL loading was spot on and/or the LAX unloading people are pretty sharp.
I believe AA handles the ramp services at LAX for QF.

I take your point (but not the probe)... except in this specific case I was 10 minutes from the plane to the carousel and I don't think I've ever taken more than 30 minutes, usually abt 20 and the J/F bags are always there.
CDG, coming off a SQ flight F/J/priority bags were coming off a different carousel in Terminal 1. (Would have to note that the Y bags were coming out first but soon after the F/J carousel started spinning and a lot of the premium pax left well and truly before most of the Y pax) Interesting terminal design but not one I'd like to visit again any time soon.Isn't that because LAX has a dedicated carousel for F/J bags? In fact, I don't think any other airport I've been to has had a separate carousel for F/J bags.

* Tips for shorter queuing times at LAX and probably anywhere (not saying you need the tips, just say'n):
- Walk rapidly from plane to immigration area. You've been in a tin can for XX hours, so the exercise will do you good (not for those sensitive to DVT though). Every 10 people or so you pass will save you time (based on 10 queues);
- Scan the queues. Avoid any heavy with pax apparently from Mexico, China, Korea, or with people with bits of paper in their hands;
- Go to the far end of the hall; most pax just join one of the first 1-3 queues they come across.
This is what frustrates me about US immigration. Why don't they use snake queues so if you do end up with someone of interest in the line in front of you you are not delayed? Isn't that simple?
Don't have a photo but it is a very bright yellow tag that they put on F luggage. Still doesn't make it come out before non priority luggage....(or not consistently anyway)yellow tag? photo please...
I've had this happen on all different airlines with priority baggage, doesn't seem to be a Qantas thing.
That doesn't make it acceptable

probably not necessarily a qantas thing... but certainly more an Australian thing. I generally find asian airports pretty much get the priority thing right every time... china, Thailand, Hong Kong, Japan. get to Australia and its a different matter (London was a bit the same to be fair).

Very true. Nothing worse than waiting and waiting and waiting at the carousel, and finally coming to the realisation that your bag is not coming at all, and then having to chase it up. It's happened to me a few times, which is why I will avoid checking in luggage at all costs nowadays!Sometimes my bag comes out first. Sometimes it comes in middle. Sometimes it comes out towards the end. Other times I have no idea when it comes out as I am not there but in the lounge having a quiet drink or 2.
As long as my bag comes out then I am happy....
