Qantas
LT Silver
A sweet little package arrived from Qantas today. There were two ways it could have gone, I guess, but it was the Silver package with Silver Q tags, cards and greetings.

I suppose it's nothing special to see a PS card or lounge invite, but for me this is the first time I've gotten one of these lifetime cards, so I thought I'd add a shot.

Just wondering if I get a fresh invite each year, or is this it?

Wow, congrats, its still no mean feet to reach LTS..

How much did they give you on the gift card out of curiosity?

Congratulations Skyring, I'm sure you get an invitation each year.

No mean feet. Thanks. I try.

Um, I just picked a random card out of my drawer to obscure my details from all you identity thieves wishing to cash in on my new elite status. The card has no money left on it - I squandered it all some time ago.

However, Qantas, if you are listening, it would be a sweet gesture to include a Westfield XS gift card as part of the welcome pack!

Congratulations, Skyring - QF should offer a bottle of bubbly from their Epiqure stocks to celebrate :)

Congrats on reaching this milestone, and welcome to the LTS family. :)

The complimentary invitation is part of the Silver pack sent out to Silver members at the beginning of their FF year.

Thanks all, and special thanks, Red Roo, for the info on the invite(s). It is my firm intention to keep up my WP status over the next decade or so, but it is nice to know that if my plans go pear-shaped - and there are no guarantees in this world - at least I'll have a bit of status and lounge access to keep me happy.

Interesting. The OP received the invite despite being WP.

When I received LTS early last year, I got a letter and nothing else. I'm guessing this has changed since (although the pass would have been good; I had another which has since expired, and I could have given that one plus the LTS one to my parents for one of their o/s trips!).

Same here - just the letter last year and no invite OR card. LTG is just two months away!

Well, four weeks ago I was NB, setting out on a DONE4 calculated to get me to WP. I'd forgotten that I needed four eligible QF sectors to attain status, so while I racked up the points, I remained NB.

Until - another thing I'd forgotten - my accumulated SC notched up to 7 000, which is the LTS threshold, and somewhere in Qantas's computers a pixie woke up, groaned and started packing my welcome kit. I didn't complete the four sectors until my very last flights, so I skipped over SG and went straight to WP, and I'll be checking my mailbox on a daily basis for that package.

If I'd been focused, I would have spotted the need for QF flights and arranged a couple of codeshares. That would have pushed me to PS earlier and then to SG, and I would have gained some more points from the status bonus factor.

Just shows that one needs to read the rules before playing the game!

Regarding a new invite being sent each year, please PM your FF number so I can follow up with our Service Centre. :)

Can all LTS request this too Red Roo? I'd love to be able to send them my parents way (especially with QR about to join the OW fold, as they're based in PER and fly to Europe several times a year, currently with EK or MH).

Apologies for the confusion. I was seeking clarification from the Service Centre specific to Skyring's posts. There's no change to LTS eligibility or benefits. :)

Thanks for posting this. I just clocked over LTS a couple of weeks ago and didn't know what to expect, if anything, in the mail about it. Does the LTS membership card supersede the WP card then? Or, do you keep the LTS card in the drawer to pull out when/if someone downgrades from SG or WP etc.?

Same here - I was LTS in July last year and Mr FM around Dec - both of us just got a letter - both currently WP.

It is interesting that a perceived low value non-status person gets a lounge invite and a high value status pax doesn't. I know I don't need a lounge pass but if I had more kids I could use one...

I believe your kids would fly J or F anyway, so passes would be negligible :)
