As a follow on from the Hilton best lounge, I was wondering what is the best lounge regardless of hotel brand you have used, for me it would be a tie between IC Sydney and the Stamford Crest in Singapore, Marriott Marquis in Dubai?

Best lounge in Australia for me would be Park Hyatt Melbourne (favourite would be Park Hyatt Canberra) For O/S - the Imperial Club Waldorf Cavalieri Lounge in Rome is hard to beat

I have primarily frequented Hilton and IC lounges and so far my fave is the IC Sydney.
It's got everything that ticks the boxes and the view is one of the best. In fact, I'll be there next weekend ;)

Four Seasons HKG - Exec Club.

First Class surroundings, F&B, Staff and an open balcony providing the best views......particularly with a glass in hand!

Park Hyatt Tokyo isn't bad either.....no club but you get all the benefits of their wonderful New York Bar

Formule One (I think it is Ibis Budget now) in Belo Horizonte, excellent food choices, straight from the freezer, at reasonable prices, and an armed guard at the door just in case. Not overly exclusive, open to all, but usually pretty empty. Conveniently located in the lobby of the, not quite five star, hotel.

I second Australia being Park Hyatt Melbourne

But I think Singapore Hyatt is my favourite to date, expecting that the new Hyatt that opened last year in KL may do it better, haven't stayed there yet though.

..Ever ran the gauntlet past the AK47 toting guard to the local 7/11 for some top ups?? ;)

Agree with Markis10 and Fifa that IC Sydney is has particular attractions.

But, for me, standout memories are of two stays at Hotel Monasterio, Cusco, Peru.

The "lounge" was virtually anywhere you wanted it to be across the premises, with wonderfully restorative teas and treats offered and served at any time.
Gorgeous place that was very hard to leave. :)

Thanks for giving us a heads-up about this hotel. It looks amazing.
Hotel Monasterio is now on our list of 'must stays' when we finally get to Cuzco.

Club lounge at Crowne Plaza Changi is the best hotel lounge I've used.

My top 3 lounges/experiences

1. Fullerton Singapore: excellent service, great afternoon tea and evening canapés that varies. Wide selection of food and free flowing moet and a large coughtail selection.

2. Fairmont Singapore: large lounge, amazing view, fee flow champagne and self pour spirits. Good staff, it's own gym on the exec floor (small but always empty). Selection that is a good substitute for dinner, not just an ok one (chicken, spaghetti, rice and curry etc).

3. Conrad Bali: private pool (for the suites, technically), ala carte buffet breakfast, buffet high tea every day and a decent coughtail/spirits selection. No champagne :(

Well worth the visit!
There may be places that are more glitzy, perhaps. But, for me, this one gave the ultimate combination of service, aesthetics and facilities. Oxygen in your room, should you so choose, to counter the altitude effects.

The rooms are highly individual and those we had on our stay differed quite a bit but both were lovely, as were the rooms of our friends on both occasions.

Good restaurants, too, both at the hotel itself, and around the town.
Go soon. :p

I forgot about that lovely lounge experience..
As I reflect.. :D

IIRC, there was a fantastic selection of local named quality customised coughtail blends on offer & some sparkling.

+1 more addition whilst in Bali..

The gorgeous lounge at the IC Bali, complete with piano player & stylish ambience.. :D

Afraid I am acquainted with fewer than ten hotel lounges, and my fave is Conrad Singapore. Open 0600 till 2300, great staff (including one young lady who ever so deferentially and apologetically reminded the four of us guzzling sparkling wine of the published closing time - at about 2325). We felt quite guilty and finished up right away! And in theory (I did not try this :)), while the drinks are only out on display during arvo tea and the hors d'oeuvres session, you can order one at any time, so in fact could spend 17 straight hours drinking every day (plus any 'bonus' late closing), if that was your desire. Drinks are decent (sparkling, not champagne, but good enough for my tastes) and food for arvo and evening sessions is plentiful and varied. I don't think I ever ate breakfast in there.

Having just come down stairs from that lounge I have to agree with all your comments tuapekastar.

.... and they do now serve Moet & Chandon.

The lounges that come to my mind are Grand Hyatt Melbourne,Grand Hyatt Kowloon,Intercontinental Kuala lumpur ,& the best Grand hyatt Taipei. The staff & service are excellent.
