long time lerker, first time poster!

I'm travelling on QF107 SYD-JFK next week, is it possible to tell if the plane is a refurbished 747-400 by the booking?

Check the business seat map.
If no row 4 its converted.

JFK is not one of the guaranteed routes.

Sure, but there are no guarantees!

If you have access to a seat map, then an easy way to tell is if there are 3 rows of (new) Skybed IIs up the front, or 4 rows of (old) Skybed Is

What date is your flight from JFK?

If you are flying economy the seat map will show a mini cabin (row 43-44). I flew QF107 LAX-JFK two weeks ago and there was a last minute change of aircraft 24 hours before the flight...so in the end you never know for sure which config you will end up flying

yeah fair enough. :) sorry i am travelling in Y, should have mentioned that.

I can see that row 69 goes 2-4-2, which aligns with Boeing 747-400 58J/36W/270Y on theqantassource which also has row 4 missing.

So I might be lucky.
