Are there such things as best 'J' seats on an A330?

I'm particularly thinking about my SIN trip next week.

I have looked at NM's favourite seats by aircraft type from 2006 but was wondering if there are any other thoughts or if anything has changed.[h=2][/h]

It could be worse. You could be in Y or on JQ. So look at the positives.

Really not a whole lot in it. There is a slight difference if you are in an A330-200 or A330-300. The 200 has J split into two mini sections of 3 rows each. I think it comes down to do you want to away from the toilets or the galley. I generally go for 1A.

If you are over looking out windows, the center E/F seats provide simple aisle access. A/K PAX may need to climb over any B/J seatmates or similar action to access the aisle.

Agree that the middle seats are better due to easier aisle access.
I've only ever flown J internationally on the a330 (SYD-CGK) does anyone know if these seats are the Mk1 or Mk2 ?

I was a bit disappointed when the a380 came out to see that there's seemingly not much of a difference between the a330 seats and the new a380 seats. Compared to say with SQ the a380 is an entirely new seat/design.

Mk1.

I also go for the E/F seats.

Travelling alone I would go 2E - travelling with mrssimongr we would be in 2AB as she would prefer there to be someone between her and other pax.

Hi straitman,

I regularly fly b/w Mel and Per in J.
Either 1B or 2B if window or go E/F in you like the aisle. If traveling alone, use the aisle for quick and undisrupted access to galley/restrooms.

I think it just comes down to a preference for window or aisle. If travelling alone, I will always select the most forward E or F seat available. If as a couple then it makes less difference and would happy with A/B, E/F or J/K and again tend to go as far forward as possible, mainly to get a jump-start on the queues after disembarking - but for a SIN arrival it doesn't really matter too much as there is always a steady flow of passengers arriving at immigration. For an overnight flight I would likely tend towards E/F just so we both have direct aisle access and don't need to wake the other to get out during the night.

If daytime flight I would suggest 1A/B or 1J/K.

If night time flight I would suggest middle, as when lights are off in cabin, the light coming through the gaps in the curtain from the Galley is unbearable if you're trying to sleep in 1A/B, I actually had to use the eye mask from the amenities pack, lucky it was a J eye mask and not the 'sandpaper' Y eyemasks. :)
