Does anyone know if MH flights on their subsidiary MASWings will accure QFF points?

At a level, MASWings seems to be to MH as QFLink is to Qantas, and seem to only have MH flight numbers.

Not according to the OW website

Malaysia Airlines - oneworld

"Code-share partners that are not part of oneworld include its subsidiary Firefly, and Bangkok Airways, China Southern Airlines, Egyptair, Etihad, Gulfair, Jet Airways, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Korean Airlines, MASwings, Air Mauritius, Philippine Airlines, Royal Brunei Airlines, Silk Air, Singapore Airlines, Thai Airways, Turkish Airlines and Uzbekistan Airways."

and on QF website:

Frequent Flyer - Earning Points - Fly - Airline Partners

"Points and Status credits are not earned on codeshare flights operated by airlines other than oneworld® Alliance Airlines."

Interesting, as they don't actually come across as code-shares. They only sell MH flight numbers.

MAS Wings credits to your QFF would probably be very challenging - I am still trying to get 4 MH J flights credited to my QFF after almost 8 weeks !!

Ditto. Well, 2 of 4 credited within a week (D class). The return Z Class flights LHR-KUL-SYD mid Mar are still MIA... Put in an online claim a week ago. Will email BPs this week...

Anyway, if they do roll MASwings in, they might have sorted their IT by then!

Has anyone actually been able to confirm this? I was looking at some random flights and found a few that could be status runs. How does 120SC for $100 sound? The MH site doesn't really differentiate MASWings flights and the flight numbers are not obviously different either. The only way to tell is by the equipment (ATR or 737) or refer to the route map/schedule. Frustrating.

I had trouble crediting MH flights to VS just before they joined OW, hopefully things have improved...

MASWings are the MH3xx_ series flights. If you're looking on East Malaysia, you do need to watch this carefully. 'Z' class flights on MH can be quite the bargain.

Thanks. Yeah it takes a bit of getting your head around. Worse when indirect flights are partly MASWings, partly MH. And people complain about booking QF and ending up on JQ, at least they tell you! (:

MASWings is to Malaysian as QFLink is to Qantas. At this point, though, MASWings is not an affiliate of oneWorld, whereas QFLink is.

appears MASwings is now an oneworld affiliate member
Malaysia Airlines - oneworld

Maswings now missing from this list. Oneworld wiki also states they are now an affiliate member.

There certainly used to be an exception for MH2000+ flights that is no longer in the QFF table that has disappeared.

A couple of years ago I flew a cheap J class TWU-BKI-KCH (Tawau-Kota Kinabalu-Kuching (with a quick stop in Sibu on the 2nd leg) all on MH numbers.
The first leg was on a MH 737, second on a Maswings ATR

Got points/SCs for first leg but not the second

yeah I also did not get any for Maswings February 2014 (and was advised that I could technically not enter the lounge at KUC as Maswings is not a oneworld affiliate member, though they let me in) but I have one flight coming up so let's see what happens.

Kuching Sarawak is KCH not KUC.
Hiding under the bed as I dare make such a meaningless reply.

But it does help your post count...

And gives me an equally meaningless opportunity to point that out

Besides I don't have the time to post as much as some people I know... Let's see at this point 6 days into the month I'm already 90 posts (or thereabout) behind the most prolific...

Happy wandering

Fred

Digging up an old thread here... anyone has any of their MASwings flights posting? The OW website still does not list them as an affiliate.
