Is it okay to photograph food?

Were you flying inverted during breakfast?

Still have no idea why that happens! Had no strange looks when I took the photo, although I got one when I asked for my Lobster to be served as breakfast.

I don't take that many photos of food but if I do take a photo with my phone I am trying to work out who is going to stop me.

I took pics of the breakfast spread in Qf lounge at Sydney international this morning.

I always take photos of my food. I usually use the overhead light as that makes it look better than then flash does anyway. There has been the odd occasion where I forgot to turn the flash off in a dark cabin.. Whooops...

In fact I'm part of a group on Flickr devoted to airline food.

Well QF have learnt how to stop you photographing food. When they turn on the mood lighting on the refurbed 747's it all looks red.

That's actually strategic lighting to make it look better. A bit like what night clubs do to make sure you don't know what you've gotten into until the next morning.

I've never taken a photo of airline food, but I do photograph good looking meals for Instagram or my blog. As long as you do it quickly and discreetly (no flash), I don't see the problem. And surely a positive 'review' is good for business.

Instagram? Isn't a that a money sending service?

I don't think our daughter can eat at a restaurant without taking a photo of the food first.
