James Strong passes away

A tragedy for his family.
Seems to be a few QF related deaths recently-David Coe(Allco and QF consortium) died late January on the slopes of Aspen at age 58.

Beg to differ, he was more than a CEO including board positions, and most of what is good about Qantas today is a direct result of his work including equipment choices. I would suggest that those who tried to fill his shoes found them somewhat big, and I believe he is still the last CEO to actually visit the hanger etc and ask for feedback from the shop floor.

It's when I read a post like this one I truly wish there was a "dislike" option.

I don't believe he has been portrayed as a hero. But the death of a business person who contributed much to many Australian companies is newsworthy and has a place on this forum.

Gotta agree with bossreggie (and others) on this one. James Strong had a reputation and career which was justifiably widely applauded so I just can't see what haggiscat hoped to achieve from making such a churlish comment - clearly he is just an ignorant individual.
