Thanks to everyone for attending today, we hope you had as much fun as we did!
It was great to catch up/ meet you all and we certainly got some very valuable insights. We hope you did too.
For those of you who weren’t at the lunch please continue to post and keep an eye out for other opportunities.
There were a lot of cameras/ smartphones in the room so no doubt there will be the odd report/ pic coming up.

Thanks again,
Red Roo

Great lunch - as much as I am not on the same page with Neil Perry on cuisine his passion for food and the depth of his relationship with QF was almost overwhelming.

And Trevor the beard looks as good as ever.

Given the interesting discussion about loyalty and that loyalty was a sub-text of my questions. I'll look forward to any reports we mere mortals receive.

Can only agree with the sentiment above. I had an excellent time and it was nice to finally put some faces to names. The dialogue with the QF representatives was open and genuine (I hope!) and the food was delicious. Thanks Red Roo and the Qantas team for putting this on for us.

What questions did you have? Chances are they were answered as part of the panel discussion. Happy to post answers from the lunch here if you want to post your Qs.

Hope you all had a great time. Due to other commitments I didn't enter the comp as I couldn't have attended ... even if I had been selected!... Very jealous having been last time and sitting next to Princess Fiona, talking of ladies things.

And Trevor still has his beard??? I thought that was for a dare last time and surprised it is still there.

Absolutely fantastic lunch today, thanks Qantas!

Great to meet the (extended) team from Qantas and hear of some interesting developments (looking forward to Q cash - learnt a few things I didn't know before).

Good to meet a few fellow AFFers I hadn't met before either. All up, a great day! Thanks Leslie, Stephanie, Andrew, Kate and the rest of the team. Can't wait for the next one! ;-)

Cheers,
Febs.

Not my exact questions but I was interested if there are plans to encourage loyalty with JQ and what those plans might be. Would like to know what was said about emirates tie up.

Congrats to QF for engaging AFF in this way.

Would love a summary thread from AFF members on what was discussed and/or what can be shared.

As someone who thinks Qantas Cash could be just what he's after, what can you share?

Probably nothing that wasn't already communicated - some of it was just news to me.

Up to 9 currencies (at once), rates locked in at time of filling up, can leave cash on the card for extended periods of time, cards are MC "prepaid platinum", points earned on spend.

We also saw a sample Bronze, Silver and Platinum card - they looked great IMO.

Cheers

So they didn't bring the sample White P1 card? :p

All sounds good, just curious on the points, how much they'll cost me ;) but I would imagine that wasn't revealed.

Really can't wait. As someone ineligible for a CC it's all I dream of right now. :)

Thanks for the info :D

I'm guessing that QF81 & QF82 was not discussed during the "Good discussion on the definition of loyalty" I am loyal to Qantas, but unfortunately due to the removal of this route my loyalty is being challenged..

I'm pretty sure that I made both Justin and Paul of QF acutely aware of the feelings of ADL pax.

"Wrapped up in paper, tied with ribbon and presented to SQ" is how I believe I might have put it at one point.

I also asked both of them if QF regards ADL as part of "rural and regional Australia".

Lesley is having a FF function in ADL in the near future so there will be more opportunity then for people to make their views known about being the collateral damage in the QF EK tie-up.

Red Roo,

Thanks once again to Qantas for running such a great day.

There are a small group of us who are hoping one day to be eligible to attend one of your functions.

I think there are two groups.....the moderators and support team here......and the QFF's who are always flying when the functions are organised!!!! :p

I think the points and fees will be a big point of negotiation. QFF see Cash as a revenue source, and that would mean the issuer paying for the points you accrue. Therefore they need to charge fees to load and convert currencies to get some value. My experience with the NAB card would suggest you need to manage your float of currencies actively to avoid nasty surprises!
