I have a MH booking for August, booked in early Jan. DPS-KUL-IST / CDG-KUL-PER.

Whilst the MH online 'Manage Booking' link appears to be finally up and running, the above itinerary means I can't use it appearently. Seems like a P.O.S system, but whatever, I can live with that.

However, I'd like to link it to my Qantas FF 'My Bookings' to sit with all my other travel. A call to the QF FF Platinum line told me to talk to MH, not their problem. Call to MH resulted in an hour on the phone, much frustration and no solution. I've also tried to looking it up through the 'Manage My Bookings' - no success.

Anyone had results in linking the trip to Qantas? Oneworld inclusion would suggest that this should be possible, but seems otherwise.

Cheers,
T

OneWorld inclusion has nothing with being able to see the booking in mybookings, it all comes down to which system each airline uses, I dont believe its possible as they are different.

Nope, no linking from either sites. I couldn't even manage my booking! Seat selection is available within 48hrs of your flight. Speak to your Travel Agent to make sure your FF number is made and it wil be on the Boarding Pass when you go.

If MH don't use the same GDS booking system, you won't be able to view that booking in the QF MMB, even if your QFF number is attached to the booking.

If in J, seat selection is available from time of booking, if Y then it can be done earlier but MH will try to charge you IME.

Had a very full J cabin defined in EF, MH MMB was down, so caled MH to ensure I got an aisle seat .... the CSE was really rude about "you must pay" until I pointed out I was flying J, she was quite contrite until she realised she could gleefully announce that I'd already been allocated an aisle seat.

YMMV

Really? I've flown with some pretty obscure airlines with what appear to be coughpy systems unaligned to QF (Miat Mongolian, Air Macau) which all appear in My Bookings. Difference being that whilst you can see the booking, you obviously can't actually manage these bookings through the QF site.

If it really is not possible then thanks for the replies. It's a shame, but so be it.

MH use Mercator whereas Qantas use Amadeus,

If they happen to use the same GDS as qantas then it will appear in MMB on qantas. This is more a side effect than a design thing though.

As others have stated - MH don't use the same booking system as QF. Chances are those airlines you have mentioned probably do, hence the bookings showing up in your MMB

Interesting my trip to KUL last month with flights to SIN on QF and then to KUL on MH all appeared in my booking on QFF, but they were under one PNR from the TA. I could see the flights but couldn't select seats or anything else.

Connecting flights will often show, as it is in QF's interest to know where you are connecting from or to. Also, if it was ticketed by QF, then they would have all the records.

That is more to do with what GDS your TA uses than the fact you used MH.

The same would go if you booked the same using the QF site.

You can enter your Qantas frequent flyer number when you do on-line check-in which opens I think 48 hours before hand. It can be entered at the 2nd last step of the check-in process. As others have mentioned MH use a different booking system and they don't seem to do priority seat reservations for frequent flyers so there is not much to be gained by doing it early anyway.

My recent MH flights were visible on Qantas.com, but that was because I had connecting domestic legs. I couldn't in any way shape or form modify any details of the MH flights.

By using http://www.checkmytrip.com and entering my (six digit) QF booking reference, I was able to see the (five digit) MH booking reference for some flights next week. But when I go to the MH site to manage that booking its not recognising the five digit reference at all..frustrating as I'd like to see which seats are available to me - sitting in J.

Hi SeatBackForward,

What are your flights?

IN>KUL MH616 4th June and KUL>SIN MH607 7th June.

Have already looked up Expertflyer, but of course it'd be nice if the MH site let you select seats!

OK - can you can see what seats are available, just can't select them.

Easy - phone the MH reservations number and they'll allocate. In fact I did this a couple of months ago - when MH's MMB portal was being a little "flaky" - and was pleasantly surprised to learn that one of the seats showing in EF was actually my allocated (and preferred!) seat.

MH wont allow seat selection until the check in period from my experience, unless you book with them online in which case its done at time of booking (and cannot then be changed online).
