Qantas Website Redesign

My eyes......

On a serious note, I don't mind it. The old design was a bit...well, old, and a little difficult to navigate at times with regards to the menus.

I always found it a pain to hover the mouse and carefully move it horizontally to then click the link I wanted, before the navigation bar disappeared so it is a bit of an improvement there, but the amount of white... I'm not so sure.

Spotted at least one link when logged in that doesn't work properly.

The drop down menus are an improvement over the previous navigation menus that would retract before you got a chance to select what you needed.

The white background will stay for a while I guess but even though 95% of people now use widescreen monitors and displays QF are sticking safely to the 4:3 aspect ratio keeping everything in the middle, so to speak.

Now to get great circle mapper and expert flyer added as plugins to the site

looks like some scenes from Fargo...

easier to use though

Happening on my Win7, Firefox too. Refreshing helped then it went wonky again.

Sucks - you can't move the cursor down from the top to areas below the menu banner without it popping up obliterating what you were actually after.

Some people prefer no to use touch screens/tablets.

Also, the prior options were compact and accessible, now mouse movement needs to be far more grotesque to access an option you are looking for.

(At least it is still not as bad as VA's where there is significant content above the menu bar)

Yep, having the same problems on both my Iphone and work computer running Firefox. Strangely no problems at all with my Imac running Safari at home.

Design wise, I find it very pretty and clean- a modern, uncluttered look. No issue with all the white, much better than flashing pink or bouncing neon green

No problems it seems running Chrome on my MBA.

Taking time to get used to all that white

Having used it on the PC now the popping up of the menu is pretty annoying...

Hmmm ... the Home page "mouseover" pop up is not happening - maybe due to the Cyclone Rusty Alert is stopping it.

Gunna investigate a GM script to alleviate this poor programming/analysis.

Having not clicked on Qantas news for sometime , when i did tonight , i surprised to see a different layout & design to it . Different fonts & they seem to have adopted icons for different aspects of the business . Is this an indication of what may be ahead to revamp the look to qantas.com ?

Apologies if im repeating something that everyone else was a aware of except me.
