Why am I sitting in the QP, and every second word is F... Something. I know it's busy, I know it's popular with people from ALL walks of life, but there is no need for the disgusting loud language. Maybe I'm just tired....!!! So happy QF have come to the party with some flat beds for my Red Eye to Sydney.

Agreed.. A polite element of decorum should always be adhered to in any lounge environment.

Agreed, though I suspect you will get a general riot if such a rule announced.

This is something that QF can't really control without looking like the proverbial toothless Gestapo.

I was in both the QP and VA PER lounge this morning, and the QP was a disgusting mess in comparison to VA.

I put my money where my mouth is and have started flying VA since the latest QF enhancement, therefore I had never been to the VA lounge in PER before so I can't tell if it is a typical comparison.

Was in the PER QP at 0530 Tuesday morning and at lunchtime on Wed. Yes it was busy (however I managed a seat each time, even if it meant Mr laptop, iPad and Phone couldn't keep all 4 seats around a table to himself) but did not hear any foul language.

As an aside the build up around the bar between 11:55 and 12:00 was amazing.

IMO it is. Everytime I've used the QP it's been packed. I typically fly mid morning and it's full of fluros and suits. The VA lounge is absolutely huge - you can always find a comfy and clean seat. So far anyway.

I was in the PER VA lounge yesterday for the first time since they expanded it. I was amazed at how much extra space they'd added. The decor is a bit old compared to the MEL and BNE lounges but I assume any new look will wait for the new pier. No prob whatsoever getting a seat.

Now they are doing expansion #2 so the extra room has been taken up by building space.

Totally agree but it is now enshrined in law that the F word is acceptable, apparently.

I think some of these people really don't realise what they are doing and that it has become fairly common place in the language- it's no longer used to emphasise, it's punctuation.

Not saying that makes it acceptable, but they don't intend to offend. This is based off a trip I just took with my bogan brother and his best friend. The friend is a really nice guy, fairly thoughtful and conscientious but he just never seemed to realise how loudly and frequently he was swearing.

Well, I will be flying out to Port Hedland next Tuesday at 5.50 am. The question is when I get to the airport early do I go to the lounge and read Board papers or ....... sit out in the general area and read them?

Concluding.............. I won't ride up those escalators, I will just sit near the Boarding Gate. It will be more quiet, less crowded and I will have had two pieces of bread and Vegemite before I left home.

and I could go on, unfortunately that's the way it is.

Good, seeing its so acceptable these days to drop F-bombs, especially in their eyes, i think its time some judges were exposed to the same everyday language... Oh wait, they're probably the biggest hypocrites of the lot...

Plus anyway there are all sorts of things that are probably legal in certain situations and environments that company's or departments can probably discourage by their own internal rules or codes of behaviour... People that break these rules excessively can either be reminded to voluntarily comply with the non-draconian rules of the lounge (which should have some level or leeway built in) or as mentioned earlier they can have their club access for a month suspended or if they really want to make a scene have their access to fly the airline revoked which will probably mean loss of job... I don't think any of these would be unlawful responses??? Its really up to the person then how essential they find it to not restrain their loutish behaviour...
