I collect airline spoons and I am looking for other collectors to trade with. Even if you don't collect, you might have a few from previous trips. Please check you drawers for hidden treasures :-)))

Please contact me if you have some for swap <>

Thanks !!!

Welcome aboard. It might help to know which airline spoons you don't want , or does your collection include multiple spoons?

I already have a large collection (see airlinespoon.free.fr) and about all major airlines. From Down Under I would particularly like Ozjet, TEAL, British Commonwealth Pacific Airlines, Virgin Australia, East-West Airlines, Airlines of Western Australia, Ansett New Zealand. From Oceania I would like Polynesian Airlines, Air Tahiti, Our Airline, Air Nauru. And many more I might not even know as of today.
I am interested in some spoons I already have, they might allow for swapping with other collectors.

Thanks:)

There was an article last year in the OZ about this subject. Apparently SYD Flounge has a $50k+ a year spoon problem.

Seems like there are many collectors out there.

I'd heard similar figures. Much higher across the whole company. Lots of people stealing!

I'd like to know what an Flounge spoon looks like if I'm going to believe that story.

That's a lot to fork out for spoons. Can't say I've noticed anything special about the spoons in the Flounge.

Yep the knives will be out for anyone seen Stealing them.

Interesting thing to collect though.

Mind you has anyone heard of PLAQUEMUSEPHILIA ?

I started by accident one day, was lunching at Montrachet in Brisbane, noticed on wall near back entrance a glass front display box on the wall, full of different champagne lids ( tin caps). Looked really good. Some am hooked. A good way to force yourself to explore different champagnes. I now have an ice cream container full. ( plenty of duplicates) ! Just haven't found the best looking display box, to quote Daryl Kerrigan, when I do, it will " Go straight to the pool room"

This thread is a real scoop!

Food for thought, pass the cutlery!

I think the $50k figure is someone spooning a furphy though!

Maybe the journalist went cup in hand to Qantas & got this one spooned up.

It does sound like a lot but having said that I know of one hotel that says they need to restock tea spoons every week due to the high level of spoons 'going missing'

What a sterling (silver) story, but I'd still take it with a grain of salt!

lets work it through.

How much are spoons $2??

thats 25,000 spoons.

When did the place open?

say 2007?

say five years, or 1825 days. 25,000 spoons over 1825 days, thats 13.69 spoons a day. how may pax through the joint? say 750 a day then thats one spoon for every 54.78 pax

nah sounds about right....

So 1 in 55 collect spoons? Hang, the OP should have no problems finding people to trade with! What is it? 6 bill people in the world, 120 000 000 trading partners!

yeah..idea...Spoonbook???

it will be a race to the Patents Office.....

Forget the patents office, AFF could own it. Straitman could administer the records and wear the official title of Spoonbill!

Now I'm being silly, so I'll apologise to the OP for highjacking his thread and withdraw. I was only stirring!
