QF Award availability - US Jan 2014

Hi,

Have been looking at booking an award flight from Perth to US (preferably DFW) leaving Dec 2013, returning Jan 2014. I can see the availability of flights to the US in Y and J however there is absolutely no flights at all returning any time in Jan (either from DFW to Perth or LAX to Perth). Surely they can't be already booked as Dec still has availability? Anyone help with ideas as to what's going on?

Generally airlines only show 11 months in advance (approx)

While many airlines will only allow bookings up to 330 days in advance, Qantas awards (and bookings in general) show as early as 353 days in advance.

Today I booked some awards (JASA's) for early January 2014 - I was able to search out to Jan 15.

I also noticed this for QF Classic award flights LAX - SYD. Nil available after 31 Dec 13. Not leaving me with much hope of obtaining AA award flights LAX - SYD for Jan 2014.
