Looks like you have QF12 with you again today . In addition QF108 is currently diverting to BNE also . UA839 & VA2 appear to also have diverted to BNE . Its definitely not a fog problem as a clear morning when i awoke at 6.15am & landings are occurring in SYD. I can only put it down to unfavourable winds across the Pacific last night , that resulted in some of the Pacific flights diverting .

edit ..just noticed DL17 & UA863 are tracking to SYD ok , so not 100% sure why the others have diverted.

maybe DL17 & UA863 have light loads thus more fuel 'left in the tank'!! and i'm currently watching another sydney 'pea souper' blanket the airport area...but i'm hearing aircraft take off..(just cant see 'em!!)

Strange thinks happen in a hour since a woke up . SYD now blanketed in FOG . Both DL17 & UA863 attempted landings & decided to abort.

edit ..it appears that fog restricted landing on RWY 34 , landings now occurring on RWY 16.

Its a moving targets this fog in SYD . UA863 landed , while DL17 , QF50 (both diverting to BNE) aborted, yet TG475 landed ....go figure !

that must have been DL i heard aborting not long ago..it sounded like a large aircraft.....think i just heard another abort by the sound of the engines...im about 1km from the airport..can probably only see 100m in front of me...can here things flying around up there..

Presently sitting on QF560 CBR-SYD which diverted to BNE due fog. Missed approach on 34L with a 2nd stint at 16L which failed. Couldn't get home due CBR fog and plenty of punters with international connections. Should know BNE departure time next 5mins - they're only letting one aircraft go every 10mins.

Hey everyone! I was just driving past BNE int'l and saw a QF A380 moving about on the taxiway. Didn't have time to get closer and catch the rego/name - anyone know which plane it was, and why it was here? :) Cheers.
That's correct we flew in from Dubai on ek434 and ended up parked next to the a380,must have been visiting because of the ash cloud at sydney.
