Hey everyone! I was just driving past BNE int'l and saw a QF A380 moving about on the taxiway. Didn't have time to get closer and catch the rego/name - anyone know which plane it was, and why it was here? :) Cheers!

There was a bunch of diversions due to fog in Sydney, so maybe one of those.

I just saw an A380 taking off. DJ staff told me there were SQ, emirates and QF A380s here as well as Virgin Atlantic and delta aircraft.

There is also a CL tag in row 2 on my flight to ADL - claiming to be jetlagged. Love DJ as I've trumped a CL for row 1 :D

ADL got QF2, so you missed one at home.

Doh! That could have added some excitement to my lawn mowing.

Last week we got rid of our last remaining patch of lawn.No more lawn mowing for me!
As for diversions ABC National's report on the return of the Virgin flight to Bali had the plane circling Maleny airport.Must be very small as I have not spotted that runway yet.

Maleny airport isn't that right next to the new shopping center?

The CL on my flight just now came from Budapest and booked his DJ flight on the plane in FRA.

BA15 was also diverted to BNE then apparently taxiied out in preparation for takeoff to SYD then Capt declared he was out of hours so they returned back to BNE Intl resulting in pax having to go to domestic & get on a QF dom flight.

I have only been told this 2nd hand by people on that flight who were pretty unhappy with BA to put it mildly.

I saw what looked like a BA 747 sitting at BNE international. There was also a JQ A330 in ADL when I arrived. I'm not the best at recognition but it made the 737 nearby look small so I assume it wasn't an A320. It was also east of the terminal with stairs not connected to an aerobridge.

I started seeing the diversions this morning on flight radar. And was having breaky in the valley so went for a drive out the the old international where one of the qf 380's was parked.

1x emirates 380
1x Singapore 380
2 x Qantas 380
2 x Virgin Atlantic 777's
1 x Virgin Atlantic A340-600
1 x United 744

It was an exciting morning

Just to add to the diversions to other cities , as mentioned QF2 & also QF42 to ADL & QF130 to CNS. Also UA863 from SFO diverted somewhere , which i can't find out. A few of the domestic "red eyes" from PER diverted to BNE & OOL.

I was on QF2 today. Diverted to ADL, spending just over two hours at the gate but no disembarking - my final destination was ADL but had, of course, to go to SYD and then return in the afternoon to ADL. Interesting announcement from the Captain that we were delayed leaving ADL because we had to wait for the one and only tug driver in the State to arrive at the airport to push us back. An engineer had previously flown from MEL to check the plane for departure.

Two questions, having seen a video of an aircraft landing in fog in Europe where you could barely see the ground, on the ground (it's in a thread here somewhere), why is this technology not installed at airports in Australia?

And, where is the old international? I've only ever known it to be in one spot.

If you fly in over land you fly right over it.I have only lived in QLD 19 years but remember using the old International terminal.
