Hi all,

Long time reader but first time poster in a very long time.

I have been a Westpac KF Platinum member since the card was released and have been using it and collecting and redeeming points.

Am I right in thinking that the only way to move to Silver or Gold KF status is with miles earned while flying (with eligible paid flights) and not with miles earned with the credit card?

Thank you in advance.

I think if you want to hurt your KF points stash you can earn status by clicking on the far right hand column. It goes Saver, Standard then the worst one. We have no status and fly regularly on points redemptions and still get into the 3 lounges in Changi that depend on your class of flight you have booked. You are never treated as a second class citizen if you have booked Business,First or Suites with SQ.

Spending money on SQ flights is the only way to gain status and PPS.

A few years ago I did one paid J flight from BNE-Europe which was enough to get Silver. I wish I had status for the redemptions I've done/
