I wonder if it's because of lots of people using it or they are limiting bandwidth?

Hmm, with everyone consuming all the bandwidth doing speedtests, there is none left for anyone trying to use the bandwidth for something useful

The NZ lounge Wifi is routed via Air NZ servers physically in "The land of the long white cloud".

The Wifi at the MEL and SYD lounges is notorious for being glacial as soon as the lounge is even half full.

When I was doing monthly Friday nights MEL to AKL I gave up even even bothering to connect to the Wifi - simply using 3G ...

Currently in the CX Lounge at ICN, lounge is less than 50% occupancy, wi-fi is woeful. Multiple attempts to complete the test.
i'm no tech head but this result bears no resemblance to how the wi-fi actually functions

Yes and the wi-fi was so woeful I couldn't edit it then, now in Honkers and its much better so I fixed it

About 8 other people in the lounge, none of whom looked like they were doing serious surfing or wifi speed testing

That is a awesome speed.

Currently (2012 hours) in BKK F Lounge, has been sitting on "Selecting best sever based on ping" for about 60 seconds.

Broadband Speed Test | ZDNet is just the same.
