approved over the phone for the non plat one, $295 bit steep even if you do get some of it back!

Finally got the OK on this one - another 32K QF pts coming my way for about $150 by the time I get fee refund after cancelling the card in a months time - 3rd ANZ card with 32K bonus I have had in 16mths - gotta love that.

Amazing. Well done. I am not sure I can bring myself to do this though. I gather you have had no problems doing this? No questions asked?
One day I might be brave enough

Offer - application - acceptance - issuance - usage - payment - reward - cancellation - offer - application - acceptance....................it takes 2 to tango - the dance goes on.

Does anyone know how quickly the points are posted on ANZ cards? (in my experience some cards post earlier than the time frame given in the terms and conditions)

The last card I had with 32K bonii pts was November 2011 - took only 2 weeks to post to QF after first statement date.

Received my new new new ANZ FF Plat cards this morn - will spend $5 today - and put it in drawer - after pts appear in QF ff acc will cancel and get fee refund.

Hey how is this - 3rd time I have applied for and been issued ANZ FF Plat cards - first 2 times very straight forward - this time I must have ticked an incorrect box or sumpin cause they wanted 2 pay slips.

Scanned these and created PDF in house - emailed PDF off to ANZ - call them - sorry cannot read PDF - strange - I can read it here perfectly on 3 computers - so emailed PDF again and also emailed to 3 friends externally - all 3 can read PDF perfectly - ANZ cards still cannot read it - WTF - create new scan and email to ANZ and also email to 6 different friends who can all read it - ANZ still cannot after 3 trys - I give up and fax to them - not only City who are kinda weird - still the 32K pts are sweet.

Is there a bonus points promotion active for new applications at the moment?

I can't see any reference to a bonus 32k points on the website...

It seems to have gone.
Still advertised on the Q web site, but the link takes you to an application page with no mention of bonus points
It is my impression that these come around again...confirmed by other posters in this thread
In the mean time look for another bank or issuer to come with a new enticing offer

Got my card in July, got 32 gff points today. So if I choose to cancel the card today I will get the majority of the annual fee back - is it correct?

You can try to get refund - I cancelled mine and they would not refund.

They did refund on previous card I cancelled with them 6mths ago - maybe they wising up - who knows - but try anyway

Hopefully this is useful for others who are trying to cancel their cards (after points are posted).

So I had the card for a couple of months now, the 32K points are posted to QANTAS FF account and I rang today to cancel the cards. Girl on the phone said they can't do partial refunds of fees but tried her best to get me to keep the card till the next annual fee is due. I sad no thanks (as I am going to apply to other cards and want to reduce my coughulative credit card limits).

She then suggested I apply to transfer to a low fee card with no rewards, $30 annual fee and she said the pro-rated amount from the annual fee I paid for the platinum card will be credited to this card after deducting the $30 fee. I sad thank you very much and accepted this as it means I get most of the fee back minus $30. And the good news is the new card limit can be decreased to $1000. So once I spend the credit on this card, I will cancel it altogether.

I had identical experience - last time I cancelled ANZ card I think I got back like $220 out of $300 - this time naca - zip - zilch - zero - nuttin' - guess the folk at ANZ finally clevering up - wonder will they give me another card next trip around the block.

How long should I give ANZ to post the bonus points? I applied on the 31st August and got the card about a week later. My second statement rollover should happen in the next few days.

I thought they should have posted way before now - mine posted like a week or 10 days after first spend.

Downer this time was that they would not refund any of the fees when I cancelled - last go-around I got back $240 odd of the $300 in fees - gotta love that.

Can't wait til next promo.

The T&C's say 3 months from first transaction, so I guess i'll sit on it for a while before assuming they screwed up.

Do balance transfer affect any of these promotions? I wonder if they treat balance transfer as a payment or a refund which means i would have less x points of the balance i transferred to another credit card company.

I've also been waiting for the points to be transferred, its been nearly three months...

Mine came through in the 3rd month. Happily sitting in my QFF acct now.

Weird: A makkerz store i went to on sunday (yesterday) refused AMEX. "Declined - contact bank", but I also read either on the actual food receipt or "rejected receipt", that they are no longer accepted as a merchant...???...

Grammer: honestly not worried if there are any spelling / grammer police reading :)

Didn't want to start a new thread on this but wanted to let you all know that this card is still paying the 1.5pts/$1 on AMEX ATO Payments. Given that the AMEX Platinum Charge Card has just reduced this to 0.5pt/$1 this was a nice little win during a 7k tax bill :(
