When did you register for HHonors diamond? If after March this year and you had four stays in the 6 months since then then you should be Diamond until end of March 2014. If you registered before then, your Diamond would last until end of March 2013, again with the 6 months caveat.
I rushed to join back in September 2012 and had the 4 stays in first 6 months. Still a Diamond but not much longer.

There was a few late March and they seem to be related to an error where the expiry date was 3/12, in other words normal requal assessment, rather than being related to the four stay caveat, but who knows???? The fact there has been none reported since would reinforce my thoughts that its not being policed, not that I would rely on that for stays after the 6 months if need be. ...
Here's one from July - there was another from about May who followed up with the no stays comment - I'm still looking for that one:

Felt a bit let down by this
the diamond hilton card was for 6 mths only
back to silver
hardly enought time to earn diamond for normal folks

There you go, we do have some evidence after all, I obviously missed it, my apologies. Seems to be inconsistent though, that's hardly surprising, cannot help but feel they were overwhelmed by the response and were not prepared.

In other tenuously related news, I'm contemplating a mattress run to retain my HH diamond. I'm currently at 25 stays completed, one booked, but my travel patterns (and their prices) haven't been particularly conducive to staying in another Hilton before the year is out. Will see how I go now I guess.

I have to say that I have extracted very good value from this benefit over the last year -- lots of suite upgrades, great use of the club lounges, and a particularly convenient Diamond guarantee room in Austin during SxSW have added up to something I've gained a lot from. Along with Fly Ahead this has been a VA plat benefit that has repaid itself several times over.
