Early 80s travelling SYD-JFK (was living in NJ at the time) I took 2 x slabs Tooheys beer, gift wrapped, plus a full sized Pink Panther for my wife :)
 
Seen people carry lounge chairs on train services here in Sydney..I have heard of BYO, but BYO lounge seating?? :shock:
 
I agree, definitely something not to be trifled with.

Hopefully no cake-ups cause havoc with flight schedules.
Getting it there in one piece (or several if that's how it is designed to be packed ;) ) would be the icing on the cake.
