Strangest thing you've seen someone carry onto a plane/train/bus/ferry ?

I used to work with a colleague who moved a mattress (!) via the public bus system. Certainly years ago, I transported a 2x1 foot fish tank via a bus and also have transported a vacuum cleaner (in box) via bus. My train exploits have been pretty much limited to lots of luggage.

Plane wise, I saw a mascot costume being taken onboard. That was pretty strange.

So what is the strangest thing you've seen someone carry onboard?

Rather common place over here!

Check in for a FIH flight at BRU, the front axle for a Mercedes E220

I would love to see someone carry one of those push bikes that break down carry that onto a plane.

I won't even go with what I saw being put onto a ferry Iloilo. But the brief run down was a kitchen sink a toilet and a few other building materials and also a crates of chickens and they where loaded at the front of the boat so we got covered in feathers and also smelt the chock poo the entire way.

Some guy had his carry on luggage, with this A-F-F tag or something. Dunno who he was, but looked pretty chuffed to be sitting in 4C. Even gave the Flight attendant a gift, like WHO DOES HE THINK HE IS.

Oh, that's reminded me of the 2 blokes who got into the couchette in Munich carrying 2 car wheels each and got off the next morning in Vienna. No other luggage.

On a plane.... well, on AFF one member here was asking how to transport a huge koala doll (I think it was a koala, maybe I'm wrong) from here to France. He even took pictures. Not really strange; more cute, I guess.

On Ryanair - people with rollerboards who board late. Nothing unusual I guess about that, except that since they can't find overhead space, they have to slide the rollerboard under the seat in front of them, basically reducing their legroom level pitch to zero. I feel sorry for some of them, they aren't exactly munchkins.

Maybe some people found it strange, but I carried Freddie Jr at one time, complete in his zebra-striped case. Still got the report here. He only managed to get two photos with other people besides his caretaker.

On a train.... Frankfurt to Berlin, two men walked on board with no bags at all - nothing except for a crate full of bottles of beer.

A bunch of flowers in the overhead locker.

The flowers were about a metre in length and took up a fair space in the locker. The owner became particularly shirty when people tried to put items into the same bin

Mrs GPH and I were on a late night flight from HNL to ANC. A woman with two children ( on a standby fare) boarded minutes before takeoff. They each had full size luggage. I am still unsure how or why they weed able to stow it as carry on.

Car bumper bar , couldn't believe it when I saw it come on board , it was about 15 years ago Asian port on a 767

Not seen or heard by me personally but from a work colleague. Crabs. Which the attendant kindly took from the guy as he boarded. Nearing the end of the flight the attendant said over the PA system "would the gentleman who gave me the crabs in Darwin, please raise your hand".

Good memory, that would be JerseyVics. http://www.australianfrequentflyer....stics-behind-delivering-crazy-gift-19341.html

I have taken a piece of electronics, indicator which has a dial and some big numbers with a 1 metre power lead(no plug) hanging out the end of it.

I took a car (rear) spoiler home on the train once, as the courier would only deliver it to my work

Not really qualifies, but at BKK I say a tiny asian looking lady try to carry on a cubish cardboard box with a size of ~½m³ .
