I hope that I have posted this in the right forum. I currently have some miles that are going to expire at the end of September and don't anticipate flying before then so I was going to use them for hotel accommodation in Melbourne, AU. My MP account has a US address (family relative) and US phone number, but whenever I try to book accom on the UA website it says that I am not eligible. Looking at the footnote on the page it says that this is only open to US residents.

I am assuming that based on my IP address their system knows that I am trying to do this from Australia. Does anyone know if there is any way around this?

Thank you in advance for any assistance.

Hotspot shield is a free VPN which gives you a US IP address and should be able to get around this.

Donate 500 miles to keep your account active. Use your miles for J/F bookings. Better use of your points.

Thank you both for your suggestions. I think I'll consider donating some miles so I can use mine in the future for flying. Thanks again.

Thanks again whatmeworry. I have donated 500 miles to Make-A-Wish International so my miles are now valid until Jan 2014.
