Singapore to beef up Australia flights

I assumed that EY and EK started up around the same time (my parents used them to get there in 2010), but a quick use of google suggests that EY were flying there back in 2007.

I think that EK previously did a code share with EI on the "Green Kangaroo" route, EI from DUB to DBX and then EK on to Aus.

Yes they did (and they still do some codesharing with EI). The EI DUB-DXB route is no more, which will be of little surprise to anyone who has flown EI in the last few years. EI are basically FR lite and barely passable for a hop to LON, so doing a mid/long haul route with them when there are so many other options (although indirect) was always a bit of a tough sell.

Put it this way, if I have a better product, lower cost, and the perception of my brand is better than the competitor, I would send as many planes down that way as I can reasonably fill.

SQ have great flight times out of Australia (SYD/MEL) so no surprise they get customers

What are the QF options ?
