'Disruptive behaviour' - Macquarie exec ordered off Qantas plane

One of Macquarie Group’s top banking executives in the US was offloaded from a Qantas plane in Los Angeles for alleged disruptive behaviour after refusing to turn off his mobile phone.
The incident on board QF108 resulted in Alan James, a New York-based senior managing director for Macquarie, being offloaded from the plane in LA on May 22 and later stopped from taking a connecting flight to Sydney.
The first incident occurred when a flight attendant told Mr James, who was seated in business class, to turn off his mobile phone while the Qantas aircraft was taxiing at New York’s John F Kennedy International Airport.
The second involved a conversation with one of Qantas’s airport staff at LA International Airport, at which point he was refused travel on another Qantas plane to Sydney.

Finally agents and staff that have the balls to offload these people.

Surprised if he was a senior Mac exec that he was in J and not F...

What a DH! (And no, that isn't a reference to "dear husband")

I pity those who have to deal with him day to day - he sounds like a class A DYKWIA

I wonder if MAC bank took any action against there employee.

Poor sod was probably just venting he wasn't allowed a corporate jet on his expense claim.

in other related news, the price of all QF flights ex SYD has just gone up 300%

have just one thing to say about this - what a tool...

Good on the airline for taking action - a clearly DYKWIA. Why do the people who pay the most for a ticket seem to think the rules don't apply to them?

Surprised if he was a senior Mac exec that he was in J and not F...

Well even then you really need to ask, 'did he earn that'?

Well done QANTAS.

I am sick to the back teeth of people who cant follow simple instructions, or think they are above some immaginary line......................

I can't imagine MGL would be able to stomach F-travel expense claims with the state of their books presently. Probably luck to have gotten J as opposed to being chucked in Y!

Surprised there has not been any sympathy for the Macquarie Group executive.

Not really....
