I seriously doubt that QF weren't making a profit on CNS-SYD!!

QF domestic almost certainly doesn't lose money on CNS-SYD. But QFi hasn't operated any CNS-SYD flights since at least 2008, and I suspect QFi probably did lose money on their CNS-SYD tag-ons.

If BA can't come to the party then find a new partner IMO. BA pax seem to be getting a far better deal out of the QF/BA enhancements than QFi pax are!

How do you figure that? BA has no paid scheme like the QP. So only status pax plus J and F have lounge access. As far as I can tell pax have the same access. QF probably has more..

(whilst I may sound like I'm defending it I'm not, just pointing out facts).

Just a few:

-Re-introduce flights to India on QF metal, (either Mumbai or Delhi will do). Since removing the QF SIN-BOM route at the start of May, SQ have 3 flights per day to Mumbai to cope with the demand, which I might add is mainly J demand, if you look at the Expert flyer loads.

-Get a partner on-board ASAP to Dubai (EK) or QF own metal, not having routing options to the middle east at all is forcing lots of pax to fly other airlines that do. And if you do go down this route make sure its either earn points + status credits on EK flight # or EK flight with QF flight #.
If its just a plain codeshare with no points+SC's you frequent flyers just won't use it.

-Stop eroding benefits for your frequent flyers, even us lower tier FF's, as if our benefits get too low it won't be worth paying the premium to fly QF for any more, and we will goto competitors eg. EY/DJ. You also need to remember that one day lower tier flyers will turn into high tier flyers, but if you screw them over early in the piece they won't come back!

-Finalise and announce all your 'transformation' initiatives quickly rather then spread them out over years, as you've seen in the sharemarket the last few days investors are not happy, and passengers are not happy (also your staff), they both want stability and not little surprises popping every other month.
Either make changes now or don't.

I'll think of more soon, but those are the major ones for me

What would I like to see?

more than anything else:

** Wider Y seats with better pitch***

- junking the 767's.
- junking 737's on international flights
- leasing A330's and replace 767's and 737s on international flights with them.
- refit 747s
- introduce service audit to bring service to a consistent standard.
- get behind first.
- additional lounges: read terminal 5 to give the big finger to BA.
- refurbished lounges
- get onto Airbus for more A380 compo ;) (hey couldnt hurt!)
- wifi on aircraft
- every seat on every aircraft with a power socket
- expanded merchandise
- drop the fee to become a member of QFF
- lifetime membership to the QC for sale again
- special promotions for bronze members to get silver status.
- increased points/SC bonus for gold/platinum
- 1 special promo for gold/platinum every quarter thats crazy good value, like $50 flights, or triple SC earn.
- 5 day notice on upgrades for international flights
- increase cabin baggage to 10KG
- audit of dropped routes and restorations of any routes that were dropped that could be deemed to be profitable
- pushing for dumping jordanian airlines from OW and adding EK.
- push for MH to join OW sooner.

This sounds more like a fantasy than a wishlist.

How prey tell would you hope for QF management to pay for all of this and still turn a profit? (it is a business not a charity remember)

Not quite.

BAEC members with appropriate status can enjoy sit down dining when visiting QF F lounges regardless of the class of travel.

QF FF members with appropriate status can enjoy access to BA Flounge however, sit down dining is only available when traveling F.

TBH this maybe more down to poor lounge design - rather than poor reciprocal rights! BA dining areas have more in common with sterile, soulless shoe boxes than fine dining establishments.

Not a deal breaker however, not the same!

In regards to the OP......bring back 747 on the BKK route.

edit - There is also the difference with family access.....IMO this is far more important than some dodgy meal BA slops out in their shoe-box F dining room.

IMO if we didn't have the likes of BA (reduced now BKK is gone) or CX, the chances of snagging multiply (more than 2) classic awards in F or J, EX OZ - would drop faster than the QF share price.

This is my biggest whinge regrading QF.....however, releasing more award seats is hardly going to fix their balance sheet!

If we lose more OW services from OZ - IMO the points & membership of QFF would drop to around junk status.

As you can see from my post below, I made the same assumption. I do like some of the (realistic) suggestions been made. Maybe we (as a collective) should start AFF Air! :)

I think the OP was interested in realistic changes. (I know I am.)

I suspect the new CEO won't have a job for that long

0.990 is the current QF share price :shock:

It has touched 96.2 cents today, iw ouldn't be surprised if it got as low as 94c today as the charts looking very ugly, and there's no historical precedence at these price levels to get any indication.

I don't know. It seems to be that the more important question is who's buying rather than the share price.

Exactly, isn't the current conspiracy theory that Joyce is deliberately driving the business and therefore the share price into the ground so Dixon and his private equity mates can buy it up on the cheap?

Just curious what is the problem with RJ?

I flew them last August from HK to LHR then back to BKK in J.
It was great. Granted the seats were not fully flat like qantas but they were comfortable.
Service and food wascertainly comparable to qantas.

Price for my ticket including a night at the dead sea Marriott Jordan was the same price as y+ on qantas.

So if I was flying qantas I would have got a better (marginally ) seat and paid double the cost.

Or receive less with y+ for about the same price.

I didn't see anything to suggest they shouldn't be in OW

Well Since it is inevitable, how about the following:

Having QFF benefits work on all the JQ brands.
Linking the two brands correctly on QF's website.
Forget this extra for the FF points/SC's baloney, or have it automatic for SG's or higher.

Maybe im being defeatist, but it certainly would make the transition to more JQ flights easier :)

Limited options Syd to LHR. We're not all business travellers. I'd like at least one flight that departs SYD early and arrive LHR at night. You have 3 flights leaving with 1 hour of each other.

A380 to Berlin. Codeshare Via Emirates would be fine.

I can only think of two QF flights ex-SIN currently that run onto LHR, and yes they are fairly close to each other.
I beleive there are 2 QF and 1 BA flights leaving in the afternoon. They all arrive in London early morning. I prefer to arrive at night because that is when I want to sleep (when I'm tired upon arrival after 22 hours of flying) so I can wake up fresh. Qantas seems to be obsessed with business travellers while airlines such as SQ have more options and they get business travellers flying with them. I know there are issues with landing rights at London but surely there is a solution for one flight that BA can help them with.QF had one flight arriving Sydney in the evening returning from LHR and they stopped it a few months ago.

saves paying ground staff.

= pinching the pennies and throwing away the pounds

What about the radical idea of a variety of times that suit your customers? Crazy talk I know. And yes I admit that the travel time, slots and curfews admittedly make this a tough one to schedule.
