It looks like i will come up 5 status credits short to re qualify for silver when my year rolls over at the end of june.
i have a gold coast to hobart return booked, it is the kind of fare that gets status credits, starter plus i think, how many credits do i get for that.
What would be the cheapest option for me to pick up the remaining 5 credits, i can either depart brisbane or gold coast, but it must be a weekend in june.
What chance qantas comping me the 5 points, especially as i have a business return booked for london ,later on in the yaer,

thanks in advance

No chance of 5 free SCs. Find the cheapest one way flight from Brisbane you can... Or see if you can change the flight to Hobart to connect through somewhere like SYD, MEL or CBR.

You didn't mention which airline you are flying, but I agree with trying to change the route to include another stop, which will push you over the line.
If you are unable to do that, how about one way from Gold Coast to Brisbane and then train or driving back?

Since it's requalifying, before booking a status run you ought to call them anyway (nothing to lose) and mention your London J trip on the books. Manage your expectations though, chances may not be good especially since you haven't already been comped.

Should that run be necessary (it would be a pity to miss out by 5 SCs, if only for seat selection and bonus points), a quick look shows Jetstar OOL-SYD return on June 10 is $155 (with a 06:10 departure ) and one Plus bundle to get those 5 SCs. Or add $17 for both bundles to put towards lifetime status.

Qantas and Jetstar are mentioned so must be QF. Are there flights between Gold Coast and Brisbane

Thanks for the info,
it is qantas, i am sitting 45 credits short, i have ool to hobart direct return booked, no chance of changing flights, how many status credits do i get for that return journey, i am assuming 40, is this correct, i do have the kind of fare that qualifies for the credits, i am just not sure about how many i get for that journey.

The flight from OOL to HBA is a Jetstar flight.
The distance is just over 1060 miles.
Earns 15sc each way in discount economy and 30sc in economy.
To earn SC with QF the fare must be at least economy starter plus (earns at discount economy and not changeable)
This would earn 15sc each way leaving you with total 30 and 15sc short.
If it is economy starter max earns sc at full economy and should be 30sc each way 60 total.

See
jetstar.com/au/en/planning-and-booking/fares/fare-types
(add the prefix to the start. I cannot post links yet.)

Cheapest option might be to go on line and see if you can upgrade to the economy starter max fare.
The site says will cost $40 for the change fee ($70 over the phone) plus the fare difference if it is possible.
