I really didn't like the Pullman - my team stay there when working in AKL and I would do anything not to stay there if I could.

Thats the reason they give away thier Platinum membership for free....you havr hardly any properties to use them!!! Absolutely pathetic program!!!

Does not change the fact that they have a program that does not work across all brands and hotels, unlike SPG/Priority Club etc, as an A-Club Plat based in BNE I find the situation laughable, especially since most are Aussie based exceptions:

Sofitel Gold Coast Broadbeach Broadbeach Australia
Novotel Melbourne on Collins Melbourne Australia
Novotel Wollongong Northbeach Wollongong Australia
Novotel Sydney Brighton beach Brighton le sands Australia
The Menzies Sydney Australia
Novotel Coffs Harbour Pacific Bay Resort Coffs harbour Australia
Sofitel Brisbane Grand Central Brisbane Australia
All ibis hotels in China China

Will be at the Pullman on Friday, also interested to see what happens as a new plat

Just checked in to the Pullman and have been upgraded to a junior king suite, offered free internet and given a couple of drink vouchers

So far so good

Did you have to request the upgrade? Or was it just forthcoming?

Before checking in at Pullman Auckland - ensure that you have a new wing room. Rooms in the old section leave a lot to be desired. Last stay (November 2011) - on corporate rate - we could hear the tourists next door trying to acclimatise to their jet lag late into the evening, through the paper thin walls. Having said that, we have previously stayed in the new wing when the property was managed by Hyatt. We had an excellent suite - HUUUGE bathroom - needed life vests for the bath :p, spacious lounge, great kitchen facilities - not that you need them in Auckland with so many affordable eateries - and a balcony with Rangitoto Island views. And to be honest, the restaurant was very good. Excellent quality, and none of that "meagre-food-on-plate-cuisine-nouvau" nonsense. Best of all, it's all in Kiwi dollars.

Just forthcoming. Checked in at the A/Club desk and the goodies were just given. But it was the old wing
