Works making me travel through the northern Philippines in a couple of weeks, I've already checked smart traveller and I don't think I'm going anywhere marked orange or red. However does anyone have any tips for getting around this place safely?

Hi Dave,

Exactly what areas or cities do you propose to travel to?
I frequent Philippines quite often & have never had any major issue, but it's best to be on guard at all times.
Happy to answer any curiosity or questions for you,.
Cheers:D

I also frequent the Philippines quite a lot, over a long period now, and have likewise never experienced any problems with safety; it is useful to have some locals to advise you on any potential problems. Don't be careless, but don't be paranoid either. Frankly, I feel much safer in most of the Philippines than I do in the Melbourne CBD on a Friday or Saturday night...

Thanks for the replies thus far, I will post again when I know the city's I will be in.

Going to Philly next week.

Let me know the towns you will be in.

I might be able to let you know some good spots to eat and also stay.

Not sure on airline terminals in Manila.

Is the CX terminal in same one as QA and close by?.

Is it far to walk from PR domestic to PR international?

Hi Limewood,

CX & QF use the same terminal, this is T1 or NAIA, whereas as PR for both DOM & INT utilise another terminal called T2 or Centennial. PR - DOM & INT share the same building with a dividing wall between the two.

Distance from T1 to T2 is only a few kilometres, however by taxi would take somewhere between 15-30mins depending on traffic.

Hope that answers your questions... :D
