I was in HBA recently, and Would say the QC HBA have great staff but the worst facilities and offerings fr a Capital city.

the flights seem full going there, should they improve their ground product?

Airbridges at some stage as well?

Comments/views?

Insider comment most welcome Red Roo et al.

The fact that it is outside security is a bit of a PITA.. otherwise, yes it is very small and does not offer much - surely in a whole year they could change the food menu! Every time I go it is the same. Well, the only thing I notice is the soup changes, but does that count?

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

I think it is better than the Launceston QC.

OP mentioned Capital City. Otherwise I'm tossing in Port Hedland Captain's Lounge (though strictly not QC entry rules are the same except no guests).

But Hobart even though a capital city is smaller than the Sunshine Coast and way smaller than the Gold Coast or Newcastle all of whom have no QF service.

There's probably enough pollies in HBA to keep QF afloat. Well, something is filling up the damn J class everytime you look at the QF flights!

As for worse QP in a capital city in Australia? Well, hard to argue against that one... but if it's there only to keep pollies happy with a bite and a beer, why bother, really........ ditto aerobridges, let alone international services...

Never been to HBA QC but the one photo attached to the thread reminds of the regional QP's.

For a capital city they should pick up the act!!!

Sometimes it's standing room only.

Can members put forward suggestions to Qantas? Do they take notice of feedback?

Sure you can - you can use Facebook, Twitter or their online form. I think there's even an email for the Qantas Club.

They take notice in theory, though you shouldn't be betting on getting a personal response unless you have a deep grievance.

Yes, Hobart should pick up their act :)

Start making substantial business like a regular capital city and we'll start giving it facilities deserving of one :p

Yes the point is poignant.

I dont believe there is a CL?

It is 'Hobart International Airport BTW'...not sure how...

No CL as far as I am aware. Why have one? I guess they could use the staff tea room! (And if there were a CL, it'd probably be that size anyway)

Used to host a couple of international flights eons ago (I think to New Zealand and the like). Now the only one it does have is non-commercial flights to Antarctica (which may not be considered 'international' since the flight lands in Australian Antarctic Territory).

I saw something about some long term master plan that HBA wants to become international again........

Plus international charters. Not sure if the seasonal commercials still exist...
