I'll have to eat my unspoken words about QF not fulfilling promises: in this case, getting rid of the check-in points upgrade lottery, and giving this SG a 12 hour lead time (a same day lottery...). My J to F came through and now I have enough notice to go to the F check in desk, probably for the one time in my life, given that F is fast disappearing.

Well done on this genuine enhancement, Qantas.

Congratulations, on what route. I hope you have a great flight!

Congrats on the upgrade :). Interesting though as I used to get confirmations at about t-18 hours.

Congratulations on the upgrade.

However, I'm not certain it means the promised changes have been implemented yet ... or not ... my upgrades in the last 12 months or so have all been showing as granted 12 or more hours before the flight. Generally I have woken and found out on checking the booking.

Oh well. Maybe praise a little too soon.
I'm enjoying a late breakfast in the FLounge, anyway (Little Miss 'tork woke me early and demanded her breakfast so I didn't get mine due to packing).
Looking forward to experiencing seat 4K on a 748 before F leaves the Boeing jumbos for good.
(QF127 departing today)

Nice seat, nice breakfast, nice flight - hope you have a great experience. I love those day time flights up to HKG although the champagne can almost flow too fast and you end up sleeping through a lot of the flight...

I was hugely disappointed when QF changed the BNE-HKG flight from daytime to overnight. I much prefer daytime flights on any sector below about 12 hours.

I'm heading up to HKG later this month and am flying down to Sydney so I can get on a decent aircraft (747, upper deck) and fly at a decent time!

I had points upgrades come through from J > F for SYD-LAX-SYD both ways earlier this year (A380 both ways :)), and both times the upgrade was successful before the T-12hr mark.

Both were there at OLCI time, in fact.
