Cheeky I know but....does anyone know if this would work:

My QFF Anniversary is Dec 31, 2011 - I have a flight on Dec 17, if I were to remove my QFF number from the booking after checking in and then submit a manual claim after 1 Jan 2012 would I get the SC counted in my 2012 year total?

I haven't tried it, but reports here and elsewhere basically have said it doesn't work.

Sc are backdated and disappear. It's the same magic that allows sc flown before expiry that don't credit until the new year to count towards status.

Well Boo  Thanks for the rapid responses, I'm not the only one 'working' hard on a Friday arvo I guess!

I have an example of this and it appears on the statement either without the ~ or with another symbol that says they don't count to the current year.

Sent from my iPhone using Aust Freq Fly app so please excuse the lack of links.

Many years ago (maybe 5 or 6) it did work. Then Qantas FF wised up and now they enter the flights from previous membership year as an adjustment, including an adjustment to your lifetime SC earning. But they do not count to current year status renewal.

I think it changed around 2005.

This is what happens with yon online activity statement:

01 NOV 11
QF 008 ECONOMY 31OCT11 DALLAS FORT

8,311
16,622
45 ‡ ~

‡ Status credits for this flight are not included in the current year total

~ Eligible flight (Qantas, QantasLink or Jetstar segment) counted towards status attain/retain.
