Will be interesting to see what QF will pull out of their hat to woo customers back.

For us points addicts -

Qantas is thought to be preparing an all-out assault to try to woo back the corporate clients who have flocked to Virgin as a result of the dispute and grounding. Among plans being considered is doubling the rate of frequent flyer points for a short period.

Stay tuned and I guess we will all find out....

On a side note, Virgin's timing of status matching was almost perfect!

Has been reported for days in different posts on AFF and FT.

There will be a sale around Friday, double FF points, more sward seat availability and better deals for those that were inconvenienced.

Too little too late. And not for a short period as the QF board thinks my memory is.

Yes I'm not sure what happened there but when I posted the URL, the AFF webpage simply converted the text to what you see.

Happy to be instructed/corrected if I've done something wrong.

Well I think this whole discussion is premature. But one member of lounge staff told me tonight there will be something along these lines.

Note virgin has just released a sale plus 25% off if travelling with more than one.

Cookies must be enabled? - something to do with The Oz moving to a paid model on Monday?

I'd rather see double SCs than FF points but time will tell.

Would love to see a double SC offer. I am struggling big time to retain my WP status, need all the help I can get.

Will be very interesting to see what they come up with - I was going to book a new fare tonight but might hold off until tomorrow now and leave my existing huge credit (from the weekend's cancelled flights) in the bank to use later.

Double FF points is an underwhelming offer and nothing to get excited about. Double SC on the other hand would be worth booking QF for.

Whatever it is it had better be good given how much they screwed me around last weekend!

*flame suit on*

Having a double SC offer is exactly the same as 'enhancing' (devaluing, for those not up with the lingo) the QFF program. Short term gain for long term pain!

Perhaps - but I've just started my new year, on 0 sc right now - so ill take the offer :)

Our company directive has been to avoid Qantas until further notice.
So for all our international & domestic everyone is now using other carriers.
DJ domestically ... Emirates & SQ & Delta are now picking up the international travel from the team and the initial response is positive. So all our forward bookings have now stopped with QFi until further notice. The interesting part is we have not had our QF account manager contact our company with any incentive. May be they think we've just all stopped travelling.

The challenge for QF will be people are now starting to build status with other carriers. Everyone at the office took up the DJ status match. And for international it is J class as standard, so status is less of an issue from day 1.

I think until certainty of service is back in place and an attractive promo offer is put in place, then there may be the odd corp customer that never fully comes back. Which then means all these corp travellers personal travel also starts to move to the other airlines.

Here's hoping an offer comes through. I have been taking advantage of the DJ double status credit offer to shore up my DJ Plat for the next 20+ months - 500+ status credits with them in a month.

Will switch to QANTAS for December though (assuming my company travel team book as per my requests) to start working on the 200 SCs I need to retain QF WP by Feb 2012.

IMO the QF experience is still so superior to DJ in many aspects I think people will want to return to QF now the dust is settling.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.
