Returning from AKL with me this morning he was op upped at check in.

Nice - strange that you are logging into your PA's account - normally it is the other way round!

I am wondering when/if QF SCs will appear on your qualification page? It might be that some people might switch from F on one carrier to Qf to make sure they have the right volume of SCs - not everyone will be a clear WP1 and some people will manage their SCs to achieve P1.

I'm a bit "special" so I do that from time to time. He is on leave from this morning and he asked me to check one of his bookings.

I think that makes me a good boss!!:)

So can a WP1 choose a seat in the front two rows of Y at > than T-80 hours?

And just the post where is says you cannot. Read, then write.

Well I must say I am VERY disappointed I didn't make P1 - if it had been a month either way I would have made it, and as it stood, I had over 3000 QF metal SC's in the nominated period (3350 to be exact) , but fell short of the 3600 due to an extended family holiday...which I would make all levels in a week and a half!

As one who has spent a lot of time on QF metal, NOT getting the status bump does give me pause to just maintain WP this year and look to other programmes rather than strive for P1 (certainly now I'll earn my comped Plat Virgin card - until now I was thinking I'd use it this year and let it roll out, but now...)

Perhaps sounds petulant, but so much time on QF planes in the last 12 months I do actually feel hard done by! Anyone else in my situation?

Whilst you may not have made the very first group, as soon as you exceed 3600 SC with 2700 on QF, you'll get the invite!

Hope so - will find out next week when I roll from London to Singapore, up to Shanghai then back home to Syd - will def get me over all levels!

[h=3]Additional premium seating[/h]Platinum One members enjoy access to more seating options in the first few rows of the Economy cabin (subject to availability) when you use Advance Seat Selection‡ at qantas.com, on selected Qantas operated flights with a QF number on your ticket. Advance Seat Selection is available immediatley after booking on qantas.com.

Also not sure if it was a coincidence, but I received a very welcome upgrade from J to F on a SIN-SYD flight last week (the day after my welcome to P1 phone call.

Hopefully a taste of things to come

Ha ha, I'm starting to wonder who is PA for whom.... :D

Not a risk I'd be prepared to take. J class in a flight over 5 hours would be horrendous!! It is bad enough TT.

My PA was able to select row 4 at the time of booking. $155 fare AKL - MEL. He was upgraded but he would have been OK in Y. (He was paying for his own travel as he started annual leave this morning)

Then you have not met me!!:)

(or my PA)

Today I felt like his PA. He is worth it though!!

Nope, haven't had the opportunity yet but look forward to it one day!!!

Clearly a staff member worth keeping!!!

Look forward to meeting you too FF.

And YES Matthias is so worth keeping. He looks after me very well indeed!!

(I'm probably not the easiest person to work for either. I've been told that I am very "particular")

It's a nice touch that when you make Platinum2 you get your own private URL. Mine is www.qantas.com.au/moody but apparently everyone else who tries it (apart from my 3 PA's of course) just gets a 404 error as if the page doesn't exist. Those clever website gurus!

Not much point logging on to be honest - whenever a flight looms Qantas sends over the "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy" team to sort out my wardrobe for the trip and give me the full spa treatment. Then they carry me to the limo and from there it's straight to the front right hand door of the plane and into the Jason Recliner at the back of the coughpit. Apparently I have a passport but I haven't seen it for years (just like the F/J/Y cabins).

Well he started it!!!
