Double SC promo

I received the double SC promo as a newly matched Plat.

If the strategy is to enticed newly matched FF to start flying with VA then this makes bundles of business sense.

Often companies have different marketing campaigns targeting new v existing customers. Hopefully existing Velocity plats & golds may get other offers down the track.

At the end of the day, if some other lucky customers were given a promo offer above and beyond what's on available to general public, lucky them. I'm technically no worse off, so not to worry. I've missed out on all recent QF offers.

I am shocked, a company offering selective promos to selective customers, should perhaps we put in a bit here about all those earned gold members who took advantage of the tasters which were not offered to those now getting the latest promotion?

Tasters were widely advertised and available to anyone.

I received the love. And am reciprocating. 11 domestic, 2 international segments personal, 8 international segments family. Most of this would have been QF business.

The double SC promo + the industrial relations strife at QF pushed me over the edge.

,

ALL golds though, not just a select few!

Just like all Golds are getting bonus SCs on PER routes ;). I dont see the sense if offering existing earned Plat members double SCs, so it seems I have something in common with QF.

Although Golds could do it from the cheap seats, which was not the case for everyone.

Which was effectively a 4X SC promo!

We are????

Whoops, its bonus points in J

To celebrate this launch, you can earn bonus Velocity Points* when you book a flight from the East Coast to Perth in Business Class before 7 October 2011, and fly between 28 September and 31 October 2011^.

Fifteen pages later and were still not over this......

It looks like VA have opened a can of worms here and it's not going away in a hurry.

Maybe VA think twice about offering promotions that exclude or segregate VFF members

For all us BIS VFFers, viva la resistance!

Any idea if the double SC promo includes NZ codeshares? Or does it have to be DJ metal?

The T&Cs aren't clear.

*Double Status Credits are able to be earned on all Virgin Australia group of airline flights booked between 14 and 24 October 2011 provided flight is taken between 15 October and 18 November 2011. Flight must be taken in order for Status Credits to be awarded. Status Credits will be awarded within 4 weeks of flight being taken. Offer is only available to those selected by Virgin Australia and is non-transferable.

^Virgin Australia group of airlines includes Virgin Australia, V Australia, Pacific Blue and Polynesian Blue

My take on that is as long as the flight has a Virgin Australia, V Australia, Pacific Blue or Polynesian Blue flight number then it should count. But then I could be wrong, it's happened before ;)

I'll say it again so all the self righteous (real members) here might finally bother to read other peoples posts.

I was status matched to Platinum. I did not receive the double Status credit offer either.

How many SCs have you earned since you were matched?

Prisoner: Where am I?
Number Two: In The Village.
Prisoner: What do you want?
Number Two: Information.
Prisoner: Which side are you on?
Number Two: That would be telling. We want information, information, information...
Prisoner: You won't get it.
Number Two: By hook or by crook we will.
Prisoner: Who are you?
Number Two: The new Number Two.
Prisoner: Who is Number One?
Number Two: You are Number Six.
Prisoner: I am not a number. I am a free man.
Number Two: Ha, ha, ha, ha....

Hi everyone,
It certainly is an interesting thread to read, interesting in that, its quite rare to find two segmented marketing groups discussing the different offers that they have been offered (or not offered in this case)!

Lets be clear about one thing, as an airline we are here to have more people flying with us, especially those that are true frequent flyers.
The status match program has enticed a lot of frequent flyers to 'look' at flying with us, and that's great.
What we need though, are people 'flying', and as a company, we will do what we can to ensure that you do that.

We absolutely are aware that the non-status matched Platinums and Golds haven't been included in this offer, and we're sorry about that.
Do we have other initiatives planned? Yes, and even though we are all great friends here in AFF, we aren't going to be letting any cats out of any bags!

Sorry to say that we cannot provide the highly sensitive information of future marketing plans.

We would hope that the good work and our continued support of the Australian frequent flying community would allow us some latitude to roll these plans out in due course.

VA, as always, i appreciate your involvement and acknowledgement of the issues. I do appreciate and understand that targeted promotions exist for good reasons and I don't expect or ask that the company includes everyone (by which I mean me :) in every initiative.

I just hope that the larger points about the effects of the changeover are noted and taken on board.

VFF have never failed to deliver FFer benefits well over expectations and in a short time. I'm a status matched QF WP and will retain my VFF WP status in about 4 weeks as a show of my respect for the people involved in putting together the VFF program. I have no doubt VFF will continue to deliver better benefits for a lower SC earn than your rival.

When VFF roll out out the family pooling program, my spending with VA will increase to allow the Ms and my children to enjoy all the benefits VFF membership will bring to their flying experience. I expect many more will join in doing likewise.

So far VFF have achieved remarkable leading edge results. I await the roll out of family pooling and other future benefits.
