Friday afternoon seems a good time to highlight a new addition to our Lounges.

Fresh pancakes with pouring cream, stewed apple, maple syrup, strawberry and blueberry jam as toppings have been added to the Lounge menu from this week.

Cool machines being installed across the Virgin Australia lounge network from this week so you can enjoy fresh pancakes for brekky (til 11am).
Depending on demand and space availability in each of the lounges, our friendly team will make them in the kitchen pancakes in the kitchen, or you can make your own. Press a button for a stack of 3 in less than 90 seconds!

More, tasty reasons to visit the Virgin Australia lounge will be shared across the coming months.

Now how does that stack up? :D

(and yes Liam, this did start with your suggestion!)

Re: Virgin Lounge Menu

Thats Great. The fact the suggestions are being considered is even better. I am on an early flight on Wednesday too. But from the Gold Coast where I always fly from. :(

Your lounge will be ready for early next year :)

Re: Virgin Lounge Menu

Great, can't wait to try it out next time I'm in a lounge. Because, lets be realisitc, who dosen't like pancakes?

Looks like the TSAS (Toasted Sandwich Appreciation Society) has some competition now!

Nice pun Virgin Australia, I think you missed your call as a journalist. ;)

I can't believe some off hand tweet I made to @VirginAustralia & @LukeMangan a couple of months ago while sitting in the lounge turned into this! :D

Now if only Liam could start hinting that i need my own personal fleet of jets i'd appreciate it.

Over to you Liam!

You won me at Hello. Now you show you listen and care as well. I can feel a very long term and enjoyable relationship developing. What more can be said but "Well done".

Any hints on a Oz VA F / WP lounge? Us QF WPs do like our massage, followed by a Salt and Pepper Squid sit down lunch with a glass or 2 of Taittinger champs, followed by a cheese platter with a few glasses of a good Shiraz as we wait for the boarding call.

I just had another thought...

A room, at OOL, where Golds, Platinums and others can sit and await their flight while they can have as much food and drink as they like, we could put it above the Hungry Jacks, let's call it "The Lounge".

You heard it here first folks. ;)

(Sorry, I'll stay on topic now. Knowing my luck the lounge at OOL will open the day AFTER I move to Melbourne next year.)

Mmmmmmmmmm - Breaky on the way to Sydney on Tuesday morning from Brisbane.

You are certainly on a winner with this one :!:

Love it. :D:D:D:D:D

Hmm I intentionally booked an evening flight on Monday so I could hit the bar! I guess it's more pastrami for dinner :D Any chance it could be left out during the day until the afternoon options are sorted out?

Saw these this morning in ADL. Nobody was touching them so I gave them a try. They were just sitting on a regular plate though so had gone cold. (No different to the ready to eat ones in the QF Int. SYD/MEL J lounges.)

Any chance that will be fixed? Was no indication they could make them either, probably coming shortly no doubt.

11am AEST huh? Breakfast was swapped at 10:30 for the all day stuff. I noticed as the first guy up there put half the meat plate on his piece of bread... maybe he had an iron deficiency.

Must have smuggled the machine out of the QF lounges - haven't seen one in there for a while.:p

WTF? The QF pancakes are made on demand. Very hot and moist:

I think it was explained in the OP:

Depending on demand and space availability in each of the lounges, our friendly team will make them in the kitchen pancakes in the kitchen, or you can make your own

ADL is easily the smallest lounge on the VA network so may be tricky to accomodate the machine on the customer side.

What I saw was exactly the same as the OP photo sans-hot food server. No space for the machine tbh, but they could figure something better than placing them on one regular of the plates you eat off of, completely open and uncovered.

Definitely small but quite pleasant in comparison to the Qantas lounge there.

Last time I tried the QC in ADL their food had improved quite a bit too so will be good to compare both head to head sometime soon.

The QF pancakes actually are pancakes whereas the DJ variety look more like pikelets to me.

There are those that would argue that QF actually provide a pikelet machine:

Used it in the SYD Int J lounge a couple of weeks back. Singularly unimpressed when a couple of tiny pikelets popped out!

That's not a pancake!

ok, i know i'm late to this particular party, but i just got back this morning from three weeks o/s (last leg was MEL-BNE). imagine my delight when i walked in to the MEL lounge this morning and found pancakes! PANCAKES!!!

yes, this girl is easily excited by foodstuffs, but hey ;)

soooo delicious...
