Ok, so here I am fresh off my first Business Class overnight international flight and just reflecting...... pyjamas. That's what I am thinking needs fixing the most. It's nice to have them, but man ......the queue for the toilets (and there are only two). I actually really needed to go to the toilet and use it as a toilet, not a change room. There was a queue of about eight people and everyone was taking a very long time because they were getting changed. Anyone else had this experience? I found it quite bad....never had to queue that long in cattle class. Methinks a curtained off area would be a good idea for changing.....

I request the PJs on boarding and change before take off. If on a PJ free flight then I bring my own from another flight and still change before take off. Skips the congestion a little.

+1 do get some strange looks on BA when wearing my QF ones though

Just a tip. If you must get changed into the Jammies, do it straight away before take off. Always a spare loo. If they haven't issued them, pick a quiet moment and ask politely for a "sleeper pack".

I just can't bring myself to do this. What happens if there's an emergency during the take-off, I wouldn't want to be evacuating the aircraft in my PJs :p

I tend to actually base my decisions on probable rather than possible events. If there is an instance requiring me to evacuate the aircraft I am not overly concerned that I will be in QF PJs - my biggest concern in that instance is that I might become a magnet for TV cameras...

Yup changing into your PJs before takeoff is the only way to do it. Remember to ask for a hanger before entering the changing room. Find it better to sit down when changing as otherwise you may hit / activate the water facet and get the PJs or your clothes or both wet. Also good to carry a spare hanger in your carry on. I also put my wallet and change in my shoes and put those either at my seat or in the overhead locker.

Doing this on a JQi flight really generates a few glances, some ever from the FAs as the other Paxs then ask the JQi FAs for theirs. They just say "Sorry Sir but JQi don't provide PJ and that guy in 1K is just a QF W**ker prancing around in his QF F PJs. I do also wear a nice pair of Dr. Seuss "Cat in the Hat" PJs. Actually prefer them to the QF PJs.

You are allowed to use the PE or Y loos. :) you might get some strange looks if in the PJs though.

You get used to that. Big plus is the extra comfort PJs bring to the flight and that you do not sleep in your clothes. Also a winner if the seats are leather.

We got them on the flight to SFO & SO says to me "it looks like the entire cabin has been taken over by an army of grey smurfs"! :p

I just couldn't bring myself to change into them after that.

Grey is so common. I prefer my Dr. Seuss "Cat in the Hat" PJs. ;)

hahaha.

Maybe I care too much about fashion and what others think, but I can't bring myself to put on the QF F/J PJs outside the comfort of a hotel room. I don't want others to see me in PJs!!

That is OK. You are still a young pup. Bottom line is flying / sleeping in PJs is much more comfortable and enjoyable than doing it in street clothes that will look like you just slept in them, which in fact you did. So want you clothes to still look sharp when leaving the airport? Then do not sleep in those clothes. Break out of the grey (J) / fawn (F) PJ crowd. Go out and buy yourself a set of PJs that says, This Is Me, fashion statement, and enjoy the flight and sleep, knowing you look great in your special PJs and that your clothes will still look great.

Gotta admit the QF J grey PJs do look a bit prison like:

The QF F PJs are a bit better:

I totally see what your saying, yes, I put a lot of thought into what I wear. I'll usually change into more casual clothes inflight. So I still try to arrive fresh at my destination. Comfort wise, maybe it's bringing out my age, but I have no problem changing into a loose pair of jeans and a t-shirt and sleeping.

OK sounds good and I do understand where you are coming from. I would only add that as a guy who only travels with carry on, I do value the space in by wheelie. My flight PJs do roll into a VERY small volume and never look creased. The Dr Seuss's are getting a bit old and I'm looking for a replacement.

I'll be wearing my 90th Anniversary QF PJ's on my upcoming flight from hell, next week: BKK-LHR in whY

Exit row I trust? Anyway enjoy the F Lounge in Syd and the Taittinger. You may be a bit shocked at the QF/BA F lounge in Bkk and the very poor selection of wines and champs. The shower in the Bkk F lounge is OK if you need to freshen up a bit. Used it on my last Bkk visit.

Enjoy.
