Hi,

Fairly new to all this so any help would be much appreciated. I need 80 SC to attain PS. My exisisting SC expire on 30/9 and I have travel to MEL planned (but not booked) for late October. If I purchased a JASA before the 30/9 would I attain silver? If I did when would that silver expire assuming I'm not able tov generate enough points to retain?

Cheers!

You would need to actually fly on or before 30/9.

A booking in September for travel in October will be counted in October.

You would have silver for 12 months from when your end of year is 30/9 through to 30/9/2012 when it would then drop back down to bronze if you hadn't earned the fewer points required to retain it...

Not that silver gets you very much these days so i wouldn't go out of my way to get it....

And a j seat from Sydney down to Melb and back should earn 80 SCs.. but yeah you would have to fly before the 30/9 as oz_mark says...
