BRISBANE Airport passengers face two mornings of delays as workers hold back-to-back industrial protests. Cleaners and security guards will again drive around the airport precinct in a rally on wheels on Thursday, one week after holding a similar action.
And quarantine staff will walk off the job for four hours on Friday morning in a nationwide strike over stalled pay negotiations.
A spokesman for Brisbane Airport's cleaners and security guards' union United Voice is warning people booked on Thursday morning flights to leave early as about 60 cars are expected to take part in the rally from 7-9am.
Damien Davie said the action will be twice the size of last week's rally.
Protesters will display banners and flags and will drive through domestic and international terminal passenger set-down areas in a protest over their $16.50-an-hour wage, Mr Davie said.
"They're poverty wages when compared against average weekly earnings," he told AAP.

I guess I'm p*ssed at this crowd just adding further complextion to the BNE Dom access roads, but couldn't their brains trust suggest they don't clean the staff loo's/go slow on management scanning etc to avoid damaging the travelling public?:?:

Brisbane Airport Delays Weekend and Monday Morings Aug - Sept?

Just got this from our TA. I think this weekend and then monday mornings but not 100% positive

Brisbane Airport Delays
Industrial action will see commuters at Brisbane Airport experiencing delays over the next few days.

Back-to-back protests arising over a pay dispute between cleaners and security guards are set to escalate, with Brisbane Airport’s workers’ union, United Voice, said to be targeting action on Monday mornings for the next few weeks.

The union has warned commuters to factor in possible delays and get to the airport early.

The protests come in an effort to raise awareness of the workers’ below-average wages, and poor job security.

I had an 0845 departure form BNE yesterday, and got to the airport at around 0740. There was a delay in getting to the dropoff area, but only 5-10mins at the most.

And the wine should be good too!

Pretty sure there will be no wine on offer before his flight, might ask for one in PE at 8.3 tomorrow just for the heck of it!
