All,

Need to go to Delhi for a week and found through Qantas website that they don't fly directly to Delhi. They only fly to Mumbai. But i found that they do offer code share connection with jet airways QF 3955. will i get points + status credits by having QF 3955 on my boarding pass?

I am assuming that i will get a Qantas boarding pass from Melbourne?

Has anyone has flown to Delhi using jet airways?

Will i be able to access Qantas/Jet airways lounge?

My status is SG.

I've flown QF9/3955 before and yes you will get both BP's in MEL. If it is booked at QF3955 you will get all SC's and points.

Jet are quite good, had several flights on them last year.

In SIN you can use the QF lounge, in DEL I am not sure as when was there the only lounge open wasn't the CX or jet one (I used my priority pass to get in). but that was because the airport wasn't finished. I am not sure of the CX rules when a OW flight is on non OW metal.

Thanks Nick,

I hope airport is finished etc...

Do you know we can pick seats on Jet airways?

well i was there 12 months ago, but it is Delhi!!

I was able to select seats via the QF, and it worked fine except for once where i was bumped off the first row of Y.. someone must have been more important than me!

Yes, I have used Jet from SIN to BOM and from Delhi to SIN (and in between) and you should have no problem with BPs or points and credits.

The on board hard product is good, but varies a bit by a/c type (SIN-BOM was an A330 but from memory a B738 usually operates between SIN and DEL ~ longish night sector for a small aircraft).

The (new) Delhi airport is certainly finished and is a vast improvement on the older terminal. Jet have a nice lounge there which I guess you should be able to use. Be prepared for some exercise getting to your gate ~ distances are long within the new terminal.

is it falling apart yet? i was looking that way when I was there in October, and it had only been open a week - but a vast improvement on the old one! And you are right about the walk! Can be close to a 20 min walk!

I was booked to fly SIN-DEL on Jet last Sunday, but could not select my seats for the Jet leg (Flying QF9 to SIN, then onward to DEL). As it turns out, I had to cancel those flights as I had to be in HKG for some urgent business, so I ended up flying QF29 MEL-HKG and then CX695 HKG-DEL after about 16 hours in HKG!

DEL is finished now, but with some of the carpet & decor choices, looks a bit old fashioned and gives me the impression that it is looking tired as a result. As for lounges at DEL, as I departed out of DEL on IT (who are not yet part of OW), I didn't have any lounge access, so I can't comment.

I have flown both J and whY on 9W from and to BOM several times this year. The service has always been good, except the food was not that good IMO. I cannot rememebr which Lounge I used at BOM, but it was fine.

Points posted very quickly.

I wish I had've taken photos of the carpet as you are right! it looked so old fashioned!!

I'll be there Thursday & take a photo for you!

You're too kind! actually I am kicking myself i never did, as it had only been open for a couple of weeks on my first trip (landed at the old terminal and left on the new a week later). but we were stuffed and wanted to get out of the place! Shops were open with empty shelves, the carpet looked terrible (bad design and not trimmed properly).

The terminal's actually looking a bit more lively now with a few more shops, etc, but it is looking worn in some areas already. Water/humidity stains on various the paintwork in various areas within the terminal and of course; the carpet;
