Just made gold last night.

Looking at my summary screen on QF website,

Current Status:Gold
Status reassessment will occur:28 Feb 2013
Status credits earned from 01 Mar 2011:915
Additional Status credits required by 29 Feb 2012 to attain Platinum:485

How come the status reassessment is not a year from yesterday?

Your Membership year doesn't change when you reach the next level it stays the same.

Only time it changes is if you receive PG and they align your dates to the WPs year.

Because you reached gold well before your end date you basically get more than a year at gold, you get like 8 extra months

Hopefully I also will be making gold tomorrow once I've completed my Hobart Status Run (JASA).

Was supposed to be on Wednesday, but rescheduled to tomorrow due to Ash cloud issues

Congratulations, looks like you should easily hit Platinum before year-end. I only wish I was that close... alas, I'm about 800SC away. Or will be after the last of my flights is taken.

Same same.

But then the double status credits promotion flier turned up in the post (in mid June, thanks QF for being prompt, not). And now QF have announced improved status credit earn on Y- as from 7 July.

Looks like July might be a busy flying month for me, ash clouds permitting ....

Congrats...Looks like u will easily get Plat in this year...I got Plat in May and my SC year ends in june so I am Plat until June 2012.Already have a few flights booked for July so can get a few extra SC,s and take advantage of double SC promo...

Congrats.

I'm still wondering if you could share (from another thread) where you got your $9k RTW J and routing?

i did!

it wasn't all on OW airlines, and had a few US domestic flights not quoted. so likely not 9k all up, and i forgot to add the taxes. gee i suck:rolleyes: sorry.

I'm also headed for Gold - but from the other direction.
Isn't there a saying "once a Platinum always a Platinum?"

Oh well I guess most of us will end up back down at Gold at one time or another unless Lifetime Platinum is introduced....

Me too, now SG, flight status points in, went silver received tags & new card, four days later bonus points arrived received more tags and gold card!. Think I have enough tags now:)

do you think it's worth asking them for a QP pass that people with silver get?

You will get the QP-Pass automatically and you can pass it to friends.

Congrats!

I made gold last week, didn't even realise but I had some points from the double points promotion go in super quick whilst I was in the air to Perth, when I got my little paper ticket from the flight attendant heading up to Karratha it then read Gold! Pleasant surprise :)

Doing a NAN run at the end of July so I'll hit Platinum with 6 months to go to reassessment, can't wait!
