Suns Drama

The only thing worth reporting in this article is that the suns manager has some common sense! Quote: "Suns football manager Marcus Ashcroft described it as a minor disruption. It's obviously not ideal for us, but it will only cause a minor disruption. The boys are in good spirits, he said in a statement."

If it had been QF I have no doubt that it would be front page news.
having said that I agree with munitalP,seems like a fairly minor incident, the sort of thing that can happen
anywhere in the world any day of the week, also sounds like it was handled correctly,no injuries, safe landing, the best sort of outcome.
Cheers

"Gee I hope I can get up for the game on Saturday! My necks still on the plane," tweeted 19-year-old half-forward Luke Russell.
sounds a bit worrying though, could be nasty for Virgin PR wise if he ends up not playing.

Given how the Suns have performed in 1sts halves this season, they probably don't need to turn up until half time anyway.
Why divert to Hobart though? It's further away than Launceston.

I wondered about that too ... the article had a quote indicating a longer runway was required, but I'm not sure about that.

LST had a lot of heavy cargo traffic last time I looked and the runway is rather long at 1981 metres (HBA's is a little longer at 2251).

I think it would be more for maintenance presence.
